That's better.... she's so roan her body is white?
Hunter
Somebody told me she's a "reverse roan" - instead of a white hair to every
couple of red ones, it's two white to one red.
Of course, the guy is a consumate bullshit artist, but it's possible he's
also occasionally right...
Cricket
THERE she is!! What a dollface!
Jeannie
Oh she has a baby face! Shes so nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Extremely pink. Do you get razzed much abut that? :)
sharon

Wow! She's...well, PINK! :-D She's adorable! If you have a Pink

"prizes" they have for "Best dressed" for sure! :-) JJ

AH!
There it is, and slower to load, so I knew it would be a better size.
;-)
Wasn't too bad loading, though. Thank you!
Yup. You gotta look for a Pink Ribbon Ride. Definitely.
She's cute.

Oh, not much...snort...
I get "Horses don't come in pink!" and then when they meet her..."Oh.
She's...pink..." LOL!

Actually, kind of keeping an eye out for one - it seems so...right...LOL!
She's finally getting more affectionate. I found out yesterday that she'd
actually had a couple more homes in the last 6/9 months than I'd thought.
No wonder, at six, she's a little stand-offish and nervy...
Cricket
Thanks. Everyone has got me curious re: the Pink Ribbon rides...gotta check
and see, don't remember hearing about a local one.
We do have a local charity ride (used to be called The Cancer Ride, because
the American Cancer Society was their charity of choice), now they usually
do Wings of Hope hospice, and one other, varying from year to year.
Guess I'm going to have to do the TWH club's judged trail ride...probably
better teach her something more subtle than "Go!" before then, though...

Yes, she'd fit right in for sure!

I forget...how long have you been together now? It was probably
almost *two* years before Comet really started to "let me in" and show
some affection with me. She was always very mannerly, polite,
etc...but "guarded" maybe...
I only 1/2 leased her for a year or so when I first met her...and
while she'd been under the care of the same trainer, she was leased by
many and moved a few times to different barns prior to me. I think
mares a little slower to really "bond" and on top of that, Comet
rightly wasn't sure I'd stick around for the long haul.
Once she realized she was stuck with me, well, I started to see
interesting things about her and what she liked and such. It's was
and is a real treat!
Your pink girl is really lovely...the fun is just beginning with
her. :-) I look forward to hearing about her getting to know
you. :-) And visa versa of course! JJ
What a cutie...but that is not pink. ;-) We had a horse like that in
the show string, and prefer to call it "Desert Peach"...sounds
classier. :-)

Had her for about a month. She's getting better, and of course I make my
living (or anyway stay alive) in part by getting friendly with strange
horses pretty quickly. But yeah, I don't think she's likely to get all that
trusting right away. She was quite astonished when we trailered to the
local horse park, that I brought her home again!

My friend with the riding stable zeroes in on the lower lip thing. Calls it
a "flobby" (floppy and flabby?) lip, and says that no matter how they're
acting right now, she's never known one with that lip, brought along
carefully, that wasn't basically mellow at heart - it shows in the lip.

Had a "rose grey" Arab, years ago. Yeah, he was pink too...

Da Nose has that lip. I think your friend is right.
She really is a treasure. Even if she's pink. ;-)

That's so sad!!!!!!!!
She's got such a baby face in that photo.

Dusty, who's not the best representative of the "palomino" color, often
comes in something I call "pink champagne" colored. I love those rosy
tones!

Sounds like someone who's been around some of the dog breeds with
brindles. What I use to know as a "seal" brindle in the boxers (so much
brindling, they look almost black -- where the "ground" fawn color is
very slight) is now called "reverse brindle." If I had to guess, it was
probably a reaction to the breed standard of "not more than 1/3 ground
color" in white "flash." If the brindle is really dark and the "ground
color" is the fawn -- wouldn't take much white to be more than 1/3rd.

Theodore Roosevelt:
A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything
real on real issues.
A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the
user.
Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government
owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.
I care not what others think of what I do, but I care very much about
what I think of what I do! That is character!
It is difficult to make our material condition better by the best law,
but it is easy enough to ruin it by bad laws.
The worst lesson that can be taught a man is to rely upon others and to
whine over his sufferings. If an American is to amount to anything he
must rely upon himself, and not upon the State; he must take pride in
his own work, instead of sitting idle to envy the luck of others; he
must face life with resolute courage, win victory if he can and accept
defeat if he must, without seeking to place on his fellow-men a
responsibility which is not theirs.
