Found 10/26/09 wandering in our driveway on Keister Rd in Butler Co.
7-8 yr old mare in good health (had vet check her)
Appears to be quarter horse, ~15 H
Gentle to handle / Knows some ground work
Didn’t balk at being saddled & bridled
“Marion” gets along well with our other 6 horses
The OP included a picture of the horse: she's not a bad looking mare.
Chestnut with a small star, QH butt, white socks on both hinds.
If anyone is willing and/or able to give this mare a home, please
reply to me and I'll forward the OP's name and telephone number.
It's happening in Ohio, too.

Oh, that's a shame. Think she was "dumped" and not just lost? I hope
she finds a good home. JJ
Karen,
If you were closer to me I would happily give "Marion" a home.
She sounds like a dear girl. I'm a sap for Chestnuts (especially
QHs). Keep me updated on her situation.

If I had the room, I'd take her in. But I don't and the folks who are
fostering her obviously have the mare's best interests at heart. At
least I'd assume so, since they had a vet check for a horse that
turned up on their doorstep.

Maureen--
Road trip?
Betsey,
I no longer have a trailer...but can't get Neil to build a new
barn quite yet. But a road trip might be in order,

Thank you very much Ruth. Do you also have a hammer to turn a load of
lumber into a barn? ( :

I've got a truck. I've got a trailer. Come to NJ and away we will go!
I raised the subject last night (when he was 1/2 asleep) and he woke
up really fast. He wanted to know if I intend to re-open my drapery
business to help pay for 'another' horse. Since that isn't going to
happen, I guess that unless "Marion" simply showed up in my back yard
paddock the answer is 'no'. Maybe I should pass my address on to
Karen?

you gotta love him! it's amazing how quick they can wake up, huh!
i bought nate a saddle for his birthday--a friend in the poconos
decided to sell her daughter's western saddle. this one will fit him
for the next few years.....
