I had no idea they were out of fashion , so many people i know used
them at least for repairs if not for sewing /embroidering etc...
But reccessions usually see a returning of many who left the
craft ...

The last time I was in a Joann Fabrics, the line for the cutting table
was longer than I've ever seen. I think a lot are back to making
their clothes, or at least for kids.
Money is tight for a lot of folks. They may be making clothing for the family,
just making holiday outfits, or they might be making gifts. I was in line for
fabric to be cut behind some people that thought zig-zagging the edge of plush
would make good blankets for Christmas gifts. I did not have the heart to tell
them how much the plush will stretch if you are not very careful. I stretch the
plush on dress hem lines to have the lettuce leaf finish. Yes, the plush makes
nice warm dresses or overdresses. Great for people who chill easily.

I see here More and more Sewing shopd opening , i don`t know how it is
in your side of the ocean , Israeli people aren`t always sewing as
much as people in other countries , but one sees more people repairing
and trying to use what they have.

Having a Mom & Pop sewing machine shop at one time, it is pleasing to hear.
