I am going to trade in my 10 year old pfaff 1473 for a new machine. I have a
stand alone embroidery machine, so I don't need any of that. I have been
looking at the Viking Husqvarna 400 or the Janome New Home Memory Craft 3000.
Input from anyone on these machines or others would be greatly appreciated.
thank you very much
Kelly
Hi Kelly,
I have the Viking 400. Very sturdy machine (and very forgiving concerning
mistakes). I have used it for anything from thin rayon to several layers of
denim with no problems whatsoever. If I had to decide today I would
definitely buy it again!
Make sure you get the automatic buttonholer thrown in with the deal, it is
such a handy thing!
Have fun
Sylvia

(I thought it was kind of a slimy policy and sent Janome a nice, polite
e-mail asking why they did that--after all, there might be a good reason.
I got what I'd swear is a "form-letter" e-mail. Didn't answer my question
at all--it seemed to be a quote from their warrantee policy. Though it
didn't mention that it would be voided if you bought it at the wrong
place!)

Kelly,
Most definitely go to a dealer! I have the New Home 7500 and love it!
Previously I had, myself, owned 2 Singers, and had sewn on my Mother's 2
different Singers. What a difference the New Home was! (New Home is
now Janome.)
About trading in..... you will probably get more for your Pfaff if you
sell it yourself. Put an ad in a free paper (we have Greensheet in
Dallas), or place ads at your church or work. You won't get much from a
dealer.
Just my .02 worth! Hope it helps.
