First brights; now scrappy!!

However, the recent baby quilt was made with brights; this one (made on
request!) is scrappy (mostly).
I have finished the top:

and the quilting will be fairly simple, so it won't change much.
I think I'll go back to my more familiar 'style' now! I am going to do
some drawing for a couple of weeks. Phew ...

several colours!! (not my usual habit at all). I think I will
definitely use them again. I used some of the Hoffman ones in the recent
baby quilt. The Makower ones stay within the same colour; the Hoffman
ones merge from one colour to another (sometimes to a contrast almost,
sometimes to something very similar. I love them all).
I've decided to make a bag for a friend. That will be the last in the
run of atypical pieces for me I think. I have enjoyed the little
expeditions into the unknown, though - strangely!

But, I did resist putting the coloured strips in order within their
colour! and I also resisted the desperate urge to place all the sets
carefully - to avoid clashing and close repetition >g< So, I did better
than I thought I would. What with these and all the hospital baby quilts
I've done lately (fun though they are), I am going to enjoy doing some
designing play >gg<

form a bulk of my work. If I can do them fairly quickly I'm OK; but,
when I'm working for months on something, I prefer to be completely in
tune with the colours. I'll have to post picture of some of my hospital
quilts. Some of the incubator covers are wonderful (panels!!). I just
adjust them for size and shape and quilt them. Some of the are really
bright; all are cute as a button.

Stunning, Patti! I love the simple geometry of the quilt. And the
fabric you used to sash it is absolutely perfect. (Of course, I LOVE
scrappy quilts!) Are you sure this couldn't be a revolution? You
obviously have a knack for it.

sort of 'pattern' to the colours - I could 'feel' the pull. I'll do
some drawing to prepare four of my more usual style of quilt; do a few
hospital baby quilts and then see whether all this bright and scrappy is
behind me or if I feel I want to have another go. Heaven knows I have
enough scraps!!
