Ink jet on fabric

I just wanted to thank everyone that replied to my query re: ink jet
printing on fabric. My mom stopped by to show me the results, which
were quite impressive. This may be obvious to some (or all), but she
did say it worked better if the fabric was ironed on to the freezer
paper *before* it was trimmed square--this gave a cleaner edge and
resulted in better feeding into the printer.

Hi:

I started quilting last year as a hobby (joined a local class), now I
am hooked. My first quilt is almost complete - about 80% (its a fullsize
sampler). My second was a watercolor quilt (its a wall quilt). I just
finished it last night. I have already started on my third project
which is a log cabin - queen size. Now I wonder if I will ever finish my
first quilt ;-)

I have a question about metallic fabrics - ie. fabrics that have a lot/some
gold/silver prints in them. Do they wash well? Or is it a
dry-clean-only-sort-of-fabric ??? I have used it in the border for my
watercolor quilt. Since it is a wall quilt, I did not bother with
prewashing the border fabric. Let me know what you think or have
experienced.

Also, does anyone out there know the number of the Lexington Museum
in Mass. ? I heard that they have a quilt exhibit on. I would really
appreciate if you could post or send me email on how to get there from
Rte 2.
