I'm doing another happy dance. I finished a cuddle/couch size quilt ( 56" x
68" ). I am using up my pastel stash and made some four patch blocks that
finish to 3". They are set on point and I used a lovely background fabric
that has ever so slight colors in it, but it "reads" as a solid, for the
setting triangles. There are 15 blocks in each vertical row and there are 8
rows across. I used a lovely tiny floral stripe...I think it is actually
pillow ticking....for the sashing in between each vertical row and for the
borders. I MQd it....hush up, Ragmop...doing a free motion four petal flower
over the top of each four patch, and SITD on each side of the sashing
strips. I love this one and I think I will just keep it :-) Bigbearlady

Congrats Phyllis,
I'd hope to get some other things done on this vacation, but with strept
throat and then the computer going BPHUTTT> my last two weeks have been a
goner.
Dancing in the late late evening for you though.
Sandi in New Westminster B.C.

Sounds lovely. Maybe I'll happy dance in front of G St fabrics later today.
Did you use any of your PA fabric in this?

No, the PA fabric is still safely in my stash. I was trying to use up some
of my stash, so that I can get the new stuff in the bins :-) But now I've
bought more again, so I guess I had better get busy again! Bigbearlady

Hooray! But if you are even close to using up all your pastels, it is
either a really really BIG quilt, or you need to do more shopping!

No worry about using up the pastels! But at least I can now get the lid
snapped on that bin......until I wash and iron the new pastel background
fabric I just bought (4 yds). Oh well....Bigbearlady

Congrats! You gave me an idea for a group project with 4-patches on point.
We were trying to be scrappy and unplanned for the first time in our lives,
and had a great time trading squares for the 4 patches! I like the striped
sashing idea alot, and just might have to revive the scrappy group again to
try it. Thanks1
Nancy
Ps -- You are so close to where I live in Tehachapi! Have you been to the
new quilt stores in Bakersfield - esp. 2 Quilt and Sew???

I went to the Strawberry Patch a few years ago, but haven't been back since
the newer shop opened. I also haven't been to the LQS in Tehachapi. I just
never seem to get over quite that far :-( Bigbearlady
