Happy Day. Celebrate with me. Mr. Esther has macular degeneration and had
cataracts and astigmatism. We've been doing corrective surgeries since
mid-October. Today he has 20/40 vision. It has been a scary journey but we
have never been alone. I called our children with the wonderful news/results
. . . that he was good enough to get a driver's license until he is 87. Our
children say they will stay off the road. Blessing to you all, Polly

I could have run a profitable business at the driver's license bureau. They
have a understandable but outrageous policy of: heck. I'm too excited to
remember what they say but it means either you have exact fee in legal
currency or Go Home. I just happened to remember that pain and carried with
me money including eleven ones, 10 dimes, one nickel and 9 cents in change.
Poor desperate guy who'd been waiting for hours stood up and begged in
the waiting crowd, "Can anybody PLEASE give me change for a five?"
I could. I did.
Made his day. Ours was already made. Praise God. Polly

Maybe if you just told your family when Mr Esther was out driving it wouldnt
stop them from being on the road all the time ?

What a great gift! (I think) Mobility is everything -and even if he
doesn't drive, he can see where to put his feet. (A friend of mine has
parents in their 90s -mom has Alzheimers but good vision, dad is
nearly blind but all marbles in position. So they drive as a team.
Pretty scary!)

That's really wonderful, Polly. I'm so pleased for you both. Visiting
the crib will mean so much this year. You can thank Him in person >g<.
These surgical 'roads' can be so harrowing; great results can help cloud
the memories.
Definitely a happy day/week/month/year!

So happy for you both! Son has dad surgery on his 2nd eye for macular and
it will be another few weeks before he will be able to see out of it.
Because of high blood sugar blood vessels in both eye had popped and he
could not see at all. We have been very concerned that he would be blind.
God is good and he answers prayers!
