Harrisville Designs

Julie from Harrisville Designs has the following news to report:
"Harrisville Designs is pleased to update the Montessori community about the
success of our two most recent products.

Our Quick to Knit Scarf Kit ( for ages 7 and older) is a beginner's project
that results in a beautiful long and skinny mohair and wool scarf. The
knitter gets to choose from blue, purple or red- each color features
colorful nubs and fuzzy mohair. The kit comes with a pair of short and
thick wood needles with adorable red wooden balls on the ends, and an
instruction booklet. Children love to knit and this is a great way to
introduce them to it! Tell them that all the wool is spun right here in our
mill in New Hampshire - from a friendly merino sheep to you!

Also right out of our spinning mill is the colorful wool fleece that is a
part of our Felted Snake and Egg Kit for ages 7 and older). This kit is for
beginners and it comes with four beautiful colors of fleece, wire to make
bendable felted snakes, egg shaped forms to make egg shaped felt containers,
nubs and wiggly eyes to decorate your creations, and complete illustrated
instructions. Felting is hot right now with a number of books and project
ideas just becoming available. Once your child starts felting, he or she
won't stop. You can make felt around a beach rock, a wood block, a
bowl,etc... Once you become comfortable with felting, Harrisville Designs
has a great Felted Hat kit (for ages 12 and over) with refill kits
available. For those who wish to do murals and other larger projects, we
have over 50 colors of fleece in 1/2 pound bags for you to play with. Get
started with the Felted Snake and Egg kit - it's unique, easy to do, and
fun!

If you are interested in any of these products, or any of our other weaving
or fiber products for children, please visit Harrisville Designs " These kits
would make marvelous gifts as well.

Kids Kits - Creative Craft and Sewing projects in Kit Form

Helga and Gerry from Kids Kits remind all of us that the holidays are indeed
upon us.

“Christmas is coming! We have a super range of Christmas kits to make and
to give as presents.

We at Kids Kits provide a variety of creative handcrafted kits. They are
reasonably priced with easy-to-follow instructions. Each kit comes complete
as a unit, with all the necessary components to design, create and complete
a project.

The kits are geared educationally for the right age at the right stage.

We start at a very elementary level. Kits for the 5-6 year olds include
basic skills like counting, cutting, glue-ing and straight stitch. Clear
instructions are included so that the child and mother/teacher can enjoy and
finish the projects together. Kits in this field include our activity
packs, puppets, snugbugs and our Zulu dollies where the children also learn
to plait and thread beads.

As the children advance in abilities and skills we offer a wider variety of
kits which incorporate different techniques. These increase their dexterity
and fine motor coordination and give each child a broad range of skills from
which they can draw. Kits included are tapestries, candle wicking,
embroidery, quilling, mobiles, basket weaving and applique.

For the older child, we have kits that further enhance design and
creativity. These include our Samplers and Weaving kits.

To view any of our kits, please come and visit us on or web page: Kids Kits We
send airmail all over the world, and this is included in the prices that you
see.”

Do you have a an addiction to create?

The owner of Creative Addiction comments:

"We all know that creativity is an important key to learning. We, at
Creative Addiction, provide a different sort of canvas to create on. We
supply textiles, on which you can paint, stencil, rubber stamp, embroider or
use any other medium which strikes your fancy. Imagine the little ones using
their hands as a rubber stamp and printing their hands on a non-terry dish
towel, or painting a rainbow on an apron. How about sewing their first
embroidery work design on a linen handkerchief. There are many items to
choose from and only your or their imagination sets the limits. Please come
to see what we offer at Creative
Addiction
