My wife approached me a couple of weeks ago saying that they had
discovered the original charter for her Colonial Dames lineage chapter
in a members' basement. She wanted to know if I could frame it. So I
told her sure. What you see here is a case of not knowing when to
stop. I matted and framed the Charter and then decided it should have
a carrying satchel or something for when they go to meetings in
various places and need to take the charter to display. I was not
going to let somebody toss the nicely framed charter into the trunk of
a car and possibly damage it. So I decided to make a padded and
quilted carrying caddy to house the framed charter. Then It was
decided to make a stand that would allow the framed charter to be
positioned on it and displayed. So I added an outside pocket to the
caddy to house the stand. So What you see here is the Framed Charter,
the Stand for displaying it, and a Padded Caddy to take it To and Fro.
The frame is Cherry, the Stand is Poplar, and the Caddy is Quilted 2"
diamond pattern black cotton, w/ padded strap. Now the Charter is
protected in archival mounting within it's own frame, along with a
lightweight stand and a padded bag to carry the whole shebang about
in. Thus ends the the story of the long lost Colonial Dames Charter.
And my involvement in it's restoration and preservation. You won't
believe the next project I am involved in, but more on that later. The
link is below.

WOW!!!!

Note to self: do NOT look at John's albums; green is not a color that
suits me and envy is not a virtue!

Anytime you want to come to sunny Spain to do some work, you're most
welcome!

I think it is called compulsive over achievement syndrome. This one
just kept suggesting further enhancement until there was nothing left
to do.

Gorgeous! But you'd better be careful -there's more than one of these
societies, right? Now they'll all want one!

Yes, and she belongs to all of them. Sigh! Fortunately they all have
their charters intact, and don't need my help right now.

Howdy!

Which may be why I'm thinking of AirStream trailers; they keep tweaking
and refining and inventing new gadgets & doodads that save space...
and time (maybe <g>).
That's you, John; keep at it 'til it's done.
Your building supplies people thank you.
