'Tis the season. It's to help us with our Christmas shopping, and our
selection of programs on the telly, etc. Stuff like that.

Oh I see. They are trying to lighten our holiday load. Isn't that nice?

I rarely see any garbage when I'm checking in here with our group. When a
message comes in that is not from a real quilter, I simply move up to
'Message' and click 'block sender'. One day, I suppose, that block list
will become over-loaded but it has worked just fine for me for years. I
guess that trick won't work for some of you depending on how you read rctq.
You do realize, of course, that I'm the dimmest bulb on the tree. Speaking
of - it's only about 6 weeks until The Terrible Joke. Polly

I've mounted a scope with crosshairs on my "block sender" clicker,
consequently I too very seldom see spam in any of my newsgroups......plus my
ISP is pretty good about blocking a lot of spam. This could be why *I*
didn't get 500 gazillion dollars for a 'cruise round the world-buy stash
till I smother' letter from the disposed despot of eastern Uganda.....or
where ever that guy is who wants to put money in my bank account.

I've been practicing my groaning for two minutes twice a day just to be
ready for Polly's TERRIBLE JOKE......only six weeks away ~sigh~......maybe I
should step that up to three times a day.

This header says it all re: my Designer 1 machine. I wish I'd never bought
that piece of junk. I've had it in for service numerous time at the
Stitching Post here and they claim it's fixed. This time I took it to a
different service person. Seems these machines have only 2 parts inside for
all the stitches plus embroidery, so the wear on the machine doesn't get
spread around like other brands. I know now why no dealer except Viking will
even consider taking it in trade. The repairman said it will sew for some
time yet, but may "really labor to sew heavy fabric ot use metallic threads"
In other words, how the H*** am I supposed to sell this thing, knowing it
won't last much longer? Great-it's only 7 yrs. old. Never will I buy
Viking things again! I've been looking at quilting machines, and all the
dealers say how poorly this piece of junk is made. Guess it's not just bad
mouthing on their part.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Now I'm done ranting. Will just have to decide what to
do with it.

Well, Gen, I am just so sorry you're having such troubles with your Designer
1. I thought that SM was one of Viking's finest. Polly
