This weekend I finished a quillow and pieced the back to a
wallhanging. Now that that is done, time to clear off my cutting
table and layer and baste...I can see the end in sight!!!!

Also, since my birthday is today *ugh* my MIL bought me 8
quilting books (4 with quilting patterns, 1 Fons & Porter, 1 on
drunkard's path, hmmm...can't think of the others). GREAT MIL to
have :-)

The August issue of "American Patchwork & Quilting" has an ad for a book
called "Watercolor Log Cabin Quilts from the Palouse Patchers". The
publisher is ASN Publishing (American School of Needlework). The quilts
in the ad are beautiful, but before I send $20 for a book sight unseen,
I'm wondering if anyone has this book? Are the rest of the ideas in the
book as good as the ones in the ad? I don't have any quilt books in my
collection from this publisher and have never heard of Palouse Patchers
and would appreciate any info anyone can share -- soon, please. I MUST
have a watercolor quilt and this looks like a better method for a beginner
than those 1" squares!

Thanks sew much!
Debbie

Debbie, I get a catalog from Connecting Threads that lists the
Watercolor Log Cabin book from ASN, and they have it for $11.96. Now
THAT is a reasonable price to take a gamble on! :-)
Their number is 1-800-574-6454. They ship really fast from
Vancouver, WA. I have had good luck with them.
