This week my guild has a guest teacher providing classes and
lectures. Her name is Michele Scott, a prolific designer. You may
have seen her name in McCall's Quilting and McCall's Quick Quilts.

On Friday morning she presented a program on Designing to the Day
Chapter meeting. Michele is a riot!! Very bold in her approach to
quilting and in speaking. I enjoyed the program very much and was
really psyched up for the Saturday workshop in which I had
enrolled. It was a class in painting fabric. We practiced
numerous techniques and learned about how to paint a simple
landscape too. The class was such fun ... just like kindergarten
was! I am delighted with my one of a kind FQ. Michele taught
several other classes this week, but I only took that painting
class. Tomorrow she will lecture to the Evening Chapter on
Machine Quilting. I am looking forward to that too.

Michele belongs to one of my guilds! Love Apple Quilters in NJ. She is
such a wonderful exuberant person. I can spot a quilt made by her from
a mile away...she has such a unique style. Glad she got to share the
love with you guys down south. She is really well known on our state's
level. Good to see she is starting to go further afield. I predict in
5 years time she will be fully national and known on that level. She
has work published constantly in McCall's.

Pat I read your post out loud last night to the guild. They loved that a
person in VA was telling quilters all over the world about "our Michele".

Melissa,
You had a quilt meeting on Tuesday night? Ha, at the same time,
Michele was presenting her trunk show and MQ lecture to the guild
night chapter, here in VA. It was good .... so many cool quilts!
Michele likes to motivate quilters and she really encourages
people to get those projects finished and to have fun.
