... or any other season.

Haven't seen this one mentioned yet: "Heart for a Hero" by Ed Ditto and
Laura Patrick. I'm half way through it and so far I'm pleased with the plot
and the writing is pretty good, and it's a quilty story too!

I can't remember who recommended "These is my Words", but I'm reading
instead of sewing! Really good.

Cindy,
Yes .... that is a wonderful book. I couldn't put it down until I was
finished. Then I went on to read the 'follow-up' book, "Sarah's Quilt." That
was good, but not as riveting the first book.

And I just finished the third in the series, "Star Garden". It is
very good also. Of course understanding and "knowing" a lot of the
geography and landmarks mentioned helps. <VBG>

I agree Pat. Sarah's Quilt was good, but These is My Words is a really
tough act to follow. I'm sure if I had read Sarah's Quilt, I would have
been very happy with it, but These is ... is, to me, such a wonderful book.
It peaked my interest in reading more about that period in time & I have
quite enjoyed it. I've just reserved Star Garden at the library. Thanks
for the tip Pati.

You're welcome. <G>
That time period is fascinating to learn about here in AZ. We will be
celebrating the State Centennial in 2012 and there are already
"pushes" to make celebratory quilts. <G>

Howdy!

"No Time on My Hands" by Grace Snyder is another "period piece"
that includes this marvelous quilter's own history. It stays w/ me.

I enjoyed all three in the series very much.

Just finished _The Wednesday Sisters_ by Meg Waite Clayton about a group
of friends. A very good summer read.
