All right, I see some of you have been peeking at my list again. <vbg> For the
rest of you, here is this month's challenge....

Do you make gifts for friends and family but find yourself up at midnight every
Christmas Eve putting in the last few stitches? Are your Decembers a flurry of
stitching and deadlines? Well, here is a way to get a little bit ahead this
year! Pick a project (or two) and join the challenge to get your holiday gifts
done early! You can then spend December RELAXING (well, OK, maybe not relaxing,
but at least a little bit lessed stressed) and know that your gifts are DONE
and you WON'T be putting in sewing your poor fingers to the bone the last week
of the year.....

Just reply to me privately, or respond to this post and I'll add you to this
month's challenge. For those of you already DONE with your Christmas presents,
congratulations. <g> For the rest of you, come join the fun!

Add me to your list! I need to sew the binding on my PIL's quilt when I get
it back from the machine quilter and I still need to finish sewing, machine
quilt and sew the binding on a quilt to my DS and DDIL.

Thanks!

There you go, spying in my sewing room again! LOL

I finished one on October 10 (still needs to be wrapped), and the other
needs some embellishment in the top, and quilting. If I can get my act
together, I plan on doing the embellishment during Monday Night Football
next week.

Perfect! I have a bunch of Christmas gifts to get done. For this
challenge, I will focus on making rice bag neck pillows/hand warmers for my
night shift co-workers. Planning on mass producing these and if I make more
than enough, I would like to sell them at a craft fair in December at the
hospital.

Of to the local grocery store to buy a 20 lb. bag of rice for $3.99 and some
soft velcro for the neck warmer covers at the fabric store...

Hullo Sue
Thanks for another most useful and timely challenge. I am going to use
it to get another challenge done - if you see what I mean!! My
miniatures group (again) has issued a Christmas challenge. So it will
be small! I am planning some 3-D holly and ivy leaves - around
something, but I don't know what yet! Should be possible.

I am accepting more and more quilty things to do these days, because I
am trying to speed up! I used to take so long to make tops and then
finish them, that I only did a couple a year. I realise I want to
experiment more, and my life expectancy does not make it to 250!! So I
am going to have to go faster <g>

Of course, I may contact you soon from a secure wing in a quiet
'hospital', but let's hope not!

No such thing as a stupid question Renee!
Sue in Burbank has been setting themes for each month of the year, for
us to take up or not as we wish. Sometimes it has been a technique eg
Applique (for August); at other times it has been a special inspiration
to get some unfinished work completed (like Finish in February). For
November (challenge beginning with 'N'), Sue suggests that anyone who
wants to state a target of things to be done in time for Christmas can
join on the list and report back on progress and get the encouragement
of others.
Have I explained this so that you can see what I mean? Sorry if not,
I'm a bit tired!
You will see references to the challenge throughout the month probably,
as we get finished or despairing!

Well, MeSue comes up with different themes. All of the ones that she has are
ones that we make to ourselves - personal challenges if you will. But they
should fit the theme. Like Scrappy September - make anything, even just a block
scrappily. I made scrappy hearts since I wanted to try heart blocks for
something new.

This month, the theme is to finish things that we are wanting for
Christmas...got it???

I sent a personal message to Mesue, but I will let everyone else know what I
plan to do this month:

My goals for this month:

1-finish the costumes for the church childrens choir
2-do the flannel pj bottoms for DH and DS
3-do the flannel sheets for DS

That's it.....because there are 16 costumes to be made by the first week of
December!!!!!!

CNYstitcher/Larisa

P.S. SOrry none are quilting related. Quilting has taken a back seat for a
while

I need to get Christmas stockings done, one each for Giles and Spike, before
St. Nicholas Day (Dec 5 or 6, I can never remember). I have the pattern, I
have most of the fabrics. I am home from Houston. I have no more excuses not
to start!

Oh, and I have a baby quilt to finish for Christmas/end of December. It's
being delivered (before the baby is, hopefully!), not mailed, so that gives
me more time.

OK, I'm in! (?)

Let's see, in decreasing order of importance:

1. Tesselated fishie quilt for my nephew
2. Watercolor wreath for Grandma
3. Watercolor wreath for friend
4. Hannukah wall-hanging for sister & brother-in-law
5. Off-center log cabin for mom & dad

and, if I have any more time and energy

6. Christmas tree wallhanging for myself

Whew! Now, I'm not actually planning to get *all* of these all completed by
the end of the month, but I want to make significant progress towards the
goals.

Thanks for the nudge.

Now that we have those 1/4" diamonds, Wendy,
getting those projects measured and sewn should be a breeze!
