Could someone post an explanation of watercolor quilting? I've seen
examples and think I understand what it is--lots of tiny pieces so you
can "shade" colors, right? Could anyone tell me more?

Thanks!

There is a wonderful book by Deidre Amsden, Britains leading quiltmaker, called Colourwash
Quilts - A personal Approach to Design & Technique, published by That Patchwork Place Inc. PO
Box 118, Bothell, WA 98041-0118. Hope this helps, Juliet Webster, National Patchwork
Association. http://www.paston.co.uk/natpat/natpat

This may be a dup as I had written once before but my carrier was in
stuck mode. Anyway, what I wanted to tell you is there is a book on
watercolor quilts from the publisher That Patchwork Place and the
authors are Magaret & Slusser. I bought a wall fabric with premeasured
2 and a half in. squares so that my squares of floral fabrics would stick
or could be moved around.

I vowed I wouldn't get involved in such a teeney time consuming project
but It got to me and I really enjoyed each stage of the quilt making
process.

Discovered another watercolor quilt idea of the same order but using hand
dyed fabric in the Nov. '93 issue *Traditional Quilter* magazine, p 17.

Try this quilt idea. It drives stores nuts when you go in and pick 20
rolls of fabric and ask for 1/8 th of a yard!! I went to a discount
fabric shop for this where the sales person didn't care--and didn't
have an interest in the shop. These quilt store people get pretty high
and mighty but that's another msg.
