help with yellowed linens

I did not find a Featherweight or a 301 in the yard sales - though one
woman almost gave me a heart attack when I asked her and she said - are
you looking for a full sized sewing machine? We have a portable one by
the patterns... but it was like a stapler!!! :o(. But I did find a
bunch of old linens. I remember there was a recipe posted here once
about cleaning them with buttermilk to remove the stains.... anybody
remember the protocol/procedure? Thanks....

"There is something that magically happens when you mix buttermilk, water,
and lemon juice together. It all works naturally together with no damage
to materials.

Susanne Ellenberger's ala Suewho's Buttermilk Recipe
1 Gallon Water
1 Quart Buttermilk
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

Let the quilt soak in mixture and then wash either with Orvus or mild
detergent. The brilliance of the restored colors will amaze you. "
