Quilting a Water Color Quilt

Hi,

For those of you who have made a water color quilt: How do you quilt it?
Do you do a pattern?
Or just quilt in the ditch? Or........

You don't want to quilt in the ditch for a watercolor quilt, since
that would emphasize the patches instead of the pattern that runs
across the patches. The one I did was a landscape, so I used
sunbeams and clouds in the sky, waves on the water, and plant and
bird outlines elsewhere. I quilted by hand and had a hard time
quilting across so many seam allowances, but I like the way it
looks. I've also seen some that were quilted on a diagonal grid
that looked nice. Complex quilting designs won't show up well
on this kind of quilt, so keep it simple.
