Hi everyone,

I found this cute family tree pattern. I showed my aunt and thought it
would be nice for a x-mas gift for my grandmother. My aunt told me
that the tree doesn't do anything for her how about in the shape of a
heart. here is where I need your help. The family tree pattern I found
was done with log cabins, I figure that was great use the picture of
each family member as the center. For the life of me I can't figure out
how to make a heart shape with the same idea. Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure I've seen a heart done with LC blocks. I was going to do one
as a wedding present for my BIL , but put it off too long and made a baby
quilt instead. Hang on, let me see....

Here's one:

It's not the one I was looking for, but perhaps it will give you an idea.

I've done it, but can't find the pattern. As I recall you do it by
making the legs different sizes and giving it a curvy effect. I will
look for it, or play with EQ to see if I can recreate it. But it may
be a few days. This puter is dying and I've just gotten a new one I
need to get up and running tomorrow.

for the watercolor heart, you can have squares with faces of the family
throughout the heart:
here is one example of the watercolor heart:

I made that one in a retreat. Is this what your looking for? I took
this picture before it was quilted and got an honorable mention in my
local county fair.
