I drove to the Glendale Quilt Show for our latest "meet up". Moira is on a
two week trip to the U.S. with her DH. We met at 9:30 and looked at some
vendors together. At 10:00, we gathered with the others for the official
greeting. Ro(not wena) arrived with her feather boa....ala Fifi. She was a
hoot and a half. HoBoHoody/Karen came with her friend Cathy. It seems that
Karen's mom....Jeanbaby....was worried that Karen would come alone, so she
encouraged the two to carpool. I was sorry that Jeanbaby is off with Road
Warrior Chuck, and couldn't join us. But she squished us with cool quilting
themed FQs....via Karen. MeSue and Michelle were there, along with
Debbie/Daffymom, and Debbie W. Jayne from OZ/currently CA joined us and is
most delightful. We split us to head to the vendors and quilts. I headed for
a chair for a "back break". After hitting the vendors for a second go
'round, I went outside to grab some chairs for our lunch gathering. I was
soon joined by the others and Butterfly and Karen J. arrived. Butterfly's
son Josh/Slinky brought his wonderful quilt to our "drag and brag". Proud
mama, Butterfly, stood on a chair to give us a good look at his quilt. Good
grief woman, don't fall. She also showed us the hug quilt top for her niece.
It's a beauty. Ro(not wena) shared her colorful quilt top that she is making
for a youngun, and her pictures of her darling GD. HoBo showed us pictures
of her latest creation.....her new little guy. I shared my Pastel Fan quilt
that the Quilting Elf/Diana Huff quilted for me. We all agreed that her
quilting is stunning. This one is a double size, so I had to buy a wheeled
bag in which to carry it. Only for Diana!

Moira made us each a lovely oversized coaster, using the official R.C.T.Q.
logo. Her machine does wonderful embroidery stitching. She even made me a
special one with a bear embroidered, along with BBL on it. And she brought
us each a huge special chocolate bar....all the way from the U.K. We each
got a nice packet of Liberty Fabrics. Oh my.....all this and it's not even
Christmas. She even left us with some British quilting magazines. She said
that will leave her more room in her suitcase for fabric :-)

I wish you could have all been with us. Bigbearlady.....hoping I didn't miss
anyone

WOW, thanks so much BBL for the run down. This was great reading, and yeah,
like everyone else who wasn't there, I wish I could have been. I can only
imagine the noise levels! Thanks again for letting us in on the fun. Not
quite the same as being there, but nearly.

Big hugs,

It must have been nice to see the show without looking over your
shoulder for wierdos! :-)
I wish I could have been there. I'm anxious to see Butterfly's quilt,
I'm the poor sod who voluteered to quilt it and now I'm deathly afraid
I'll ruin it.....

Gotta run!

You will do a fine job on Butterfly's niece's quilt. I've seen your stuff,
young lady! Bigbearlady

Relax Kim, you'll do fine :)
We are still waiting on Connie, JJ, Krysia, and Katie's blocks to show up and then
it will on to you.
If it helps any she doesn't sew or quilt. Does beautiful Counted Cross Stitch tho.
She is just so excited that we are doing this for her :)

Don't worry, Kim. I had the little cloud over my head when I put the blocks
together so we did all the reverse sewing already (more ways than one! <g>)
You'll do a wonderful job - I've seen what you've done!! :-D

It was wonderful! And it was really great to meet Moira...too bad we got to
lunch a bit late, cause BBL, Butterfly, Jayne, Ro (not wena) were hoggin'
her company! We had to sit at the next table over <g> Don't remember if I
got a chance, but Moira, thank you again for the goodies!!! Ro (not wena)
outdressed us all & punished us with a demerit squishie. :-) What was a
bummer about the whole thing was we forgot to do our group photo! :-( and
I had forgot my camera, too....bad, HoBo! <g> But we all got to see some
great quilts, were honored with the Queen's presence! <vbg> and treated
ourselves to some goodies.

Well, I'm still draggin' from the drive & the walkin' about...at least we've
got BBL to keep good notes! ;-D

It was fun...when's the next one!?

HoBo

Hey Suzie,
You bought a lot more than t-shirts, Daughter 'o mine. I saw those bulging
yeller suitcases you dragged on to Chicago for more acquistions.
Hope you are well and I've found more shops for us to check out next time
you and Mr. Musket come to this side of the pond.
