I ordered some stuff from Staples the Stationery superstore. A large box
arrived - and the delivery driver said "hang on a moment, I have another
one! The second box was three times the size! One box (the smaller)
contained a toner cartridge for the photocopier, plus three inkjet
cartridges - the larger one contained one more inkjet cartridge. Now when I
say big I mean BIG! Suitcase size!

Today another enormous box arrived with yet another injet refill. This was
followed by an email asking me, very politely, for feedback on their
service! I told them that IO was delighted with it, but was it really
necessary to pack one small cartridge in a box large enough to fit an
elephant in?

Had the reply later - "Dear Madam, Thank you for your comments which are
noted. Next time we`ll send you an elephant!"

I`m sure it will be BEAUTIFULLY packed!!!

Anyone want a vast supply of bubble-wrap?

Love it, Pat! ROTFLMAO, just picturing it!

It does make you wonder sometimes about the mentality of those who ship
things. I think this is why I have such a large supply of bubblewrap and
ghost-farts..oops styrofoam peanuts!

NO NO NO -- those are naugha-bones!!! They use the hide of the dreaded naugha
to cover chairs and such. Nothing is allowed to go to waste because the naugha
is such an endangered species!!!! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

LOL... I've seen that happen before... and seen one being packed that way.
Usually it's because they've run out of appropriate sized or shaped boxes and
have to go for the next one that fits. Most places don't like to do that unless
necessary because not only do the boxes cost more, but shipping through many
places will cost more by going up a step in size.

Gotta love the response, though!

When I worked in the vet. hospital (animals - not soldiers<lol>) we used
"nerdles" in the litter boxes of cats from whom we needed a urine sample.
It gave the cats something to dig around in and we could easily collect the
sample when they were done. :-))

For the bubblewrap, the library system where I work is currently
designing/building several new branch libraries (actually, they're
"replacement" branch libraries), putting LOADS of stress on various
employees. :-)) Sometime during the past month, the managers sent around
little "Stress Reducing Kits". Inside each envelope was a large piece of
bubblewrap with directions advising us to "pop as many bubbles as necessary
for immediate but temporary alleviation of symptoms". :-)))))))

P.S. Our branch's ground breaking is on Feb 8 & we're planning an
"autumnal" grand opening!!!!!!!

Liz, I thought at first that you meant that you had seen an elephant
shipped. LOL One has to blame it on the fact that my bed's not made, and I
do want to get in it.

It's too bad that Dr. Who was cancelled. A lot of their space aliens seemed to
be mostly bubblewrap and styrofoam.

I love it! Beats those goofy nerf balls they gave us at one job I had....we
were allowed to squeeze them, but NOT to bounce them off objects, which is
what we'd really like to have done... (the supervisor's head comes to
mind.....)
