Jes' curious... Have any of you run across attractive, bold charts that
utilize a stained-glass style in the pattern? The content ofthe design
needn't be religious, I'm simply interested in the style.
Merci buckets in advance...

Donna Giampa has a design called "The Kiss" that shows a couple
kissing surrounded by stained glass designs -- it's very attractive, I
think. If you get The Stitchery catalog I believe it's shown in a
recent edition as a kit.

One thing I always wanted to do is some kind of Rose Window in
cross-stitch...anyone know of a pattern along this line? Or perhaps a
website with a good picture of one? (Time to warm up my copy of

Somebody did a gorgeous rose window over 1 for the SOXS contest...I heard
a rumor it was from a magazine...anybody know? SamIAm?

Good medieval patterns are hard to find. There are tons of
medievalism-inspired ones, like Wm. Morris--which are lovely, I'm not
knocking them--but for us addicts, they don't quite do it! There are a few
Lady/Unicorn ones, but they're not very detailed.
I do have an idea for a design, actually...now that I'm unemployed I might
actually chart it...unfortunately my imagination is way more talented than
my drawing hand. I think TW could do it justice, but I don't think I can!

"View From Oyster Bay" (adaptation of

the Tiffany window charts are now out
of print. They were published by Kappie

I've stitched the Gather Ye Rosebuds

the companion piece. I definitely
want to do Oyster Bay, cuz I have

the chart is on the endangered (if not extinct) list.
2. Peacock Stained Glass Window
Also by Kappie Originals (see above)
3. Mary Hickmott in her New Stitches magazine often has stained glass
designs:
Edwardian Elegance, issue #8, page 31
Dazzling display, issue #12, page 62
Rose Window, issue #20, page 8 (totally awesome IMO)
Shades of Grandeur, issue #30, page 29

I'm not Sam, but I do know that Mary Hickmott published a monster-big
rose window design in New Stitches with the past few years. I saw a
photo of it worked up recently. Gorgeous. Enormous.

I'll second the above and add a vote for TW's Wedding Sampler. Both are
pretty involved, tho. If you want simpler there are lots of samplers out
there you could change the saying on. You say you don't want roses or
cherubs, but wildflowers and/or daisies. Are you looking to go more
rustic/country?
