Has anyone out there been brave enough to stitch this one yet?
My best friend just bought it at the Rockome Show on Monday
and I told her she was nuts after looking at the pattern. It
really will be beautiful when its done.

Haven't ventured into that one yet, but I started the Degas ballerina scene
(also by FAHS). Yes, it's solid... but I am taking it one 10 by 10 area at a
time until it is finished.

They are gorgeous in person!

Boy, Karen warned me that RCTN would have a terrible influence on my stash &
it's already started. I was an art history major in college & Impressionism
is my favorite style (although I specialized in American Impressionism).
So, I've got to have these charts. What designer/publisher does FAHS stand
for?

While I'm at it, I've been trying to find a chart I've seen discussed here.
I can't think of the title, but it's something about a tribute to French
Impressionism & it was in a magazine. I had it written down, but I can't
find my note. I've wanted it since someone entered it in the competition at
SOCS VF in 1996. At the time, I looked through all the magazines we have
here & I remember that we had some copies of it, but not that issue. If
someone has a copy, I'd be happy to pick up something of equal value that
you are looking for for you at SOCS.

I got my signature done last night. I hope I got it all right!

Catherine,

I think I have the pattern you're referring to. Believe it or not, my future
mom-in-law let me go through her pile of magazines and take what I wanted,
and I took that one just for that pattern! It has a reproduction of an
Impressionist piece, the names of several Impressionists, and a quote, I
think from Cezanne. Does that sound like the one you're referring to? Since
I picked this up a week ago and (obviously) haven't done it myself yet, would
a photocopy be ok?

It's Cross Stitch Sampler, the Fall 1994 issue. (I don't recall the
volume/issue #'s offhand)

Glad to help a fellow stitcher! <G>

Thank you Amy!

Okay, so does anybody have this?? Do you see me smiling very sweetly
because I really, really want it? :-) Of course I don't want it badly enough
to pay lots more than it was originally worth, but I will pay cost plus
postage or pick up something of similar value for you at SOCS in VF. I'd
need to know by Friday if you want the second option, as I do read this from
the office, and that's my last day here. We leave Sunday (oh, my, and I
haven't packed a thing!! or done any laundry so I'll have something to
pack!!).

Or is there a web site (Nan?) that had lots of back issues? I have tried
Needlework Corner, but they don't have it listed.

Photocopying is a BIG no-no. This is outright copyright infringement!

I don't want to start a huge debate, but I did want to point out that I
replied to Amy's post and told her I didn't want a photocopy (since my mom's
a designer, I'm defiantly aware of copyright laws!) and asked her for the
name & issue of the mag so I could try to find another source for it.

I'm *very* sorry for offering to photocopy it. I don't know what I was
thinking! And I did provide Catherine with the magazine info. Again, I'm
really sorry. <hangs head in shame>

Monet's Water Lilies 1914 is available from FAHS. The pattern is $13.00. The web
site is

http://www.aa.net/fahsxstitch/newrele.htm

Not affiliated in any way. Just like Monet and Renoir.
