I have 4 left of the Trish Burr to do from her book this month. I want them
done so when I get home can make them into either a moire throw or coverlet. I
am so pleased with them and they will be remarkably beautiful I think made up--
very brave to do with a usable object. I am not so great at doing the work and
not securing it's safety later into a frame etc. But I did these directly on
moire fabric and they seem to be more usable that way. Definitely a dry clean
item if something gets on them--- I did not secure rinse any of the dmc....ugh.
The moire is off white. That may turn interesting.

Anyone ever come up with more Botanical embroidery sources that were fab. I
learned of this book here and have really enjoyed myself. We are looking at a
French Provincial type home to buy and would not this be great in
there--Redoute'.

Hi there Dianne!
When I get home and it is made up... Here is what I think I will do with it.
They are only 4 inches so going to moire fabric build up around them like
matting and then piece them into a coverlet . Otherwise they will be totally
obscured because they are so small. If you have any ideas please share...

Not a clue . . . your idea sounds wonderful. Just thinking, though,
from a picture I saw the other day:
Did you say you worked the embroidery on moire? If so, would another
type of satin (the one I saw was wide-ribbed and was silk) work to give
you some texture on the bands? Or might that detract?

I have never seen it, but I did a search on Amazon, and one of their used
book dealers has it for $10 something, in very good condition.

offwhite moire but the moire matting around the flower on a square is cream?
Just the mats cream colored? I had not thought of buying another color because
moire does not come in very many colors and I do not want the matting to stand
out. BUT cream on off white perhaps would be good.What do eyou think? I have
to buy the fabric anyway; same price no matter the color.
