Hello!

I am an old newbie, or a new oldie, or something like that. I used to
be on this newsgroup about 4 or 5 years ago. I had to drop when I went
back to school (Library School). I learned so many wonderful things
from everyone here that I just had to get back on the list once I had
more time for reading email.

I'm 35 and just had my first child 3/12/00. I have yet to figure out
how the heck to stitch with a baby, but I'm working on it. I work as a
reference librarian in a commercial art school. I live in Seattle, WA,
USA, but I am a Texan by birth and at heart. :) I am studying Irish
Gaelic and hope to do well enough to teach my daughter Ciara. My
husband plays Irish flute in a local band and is a music librarian.

More than anyone wanted to know, I'm sure. ;)

I'm looking for a chart of a Cyrillic alphabet. I don't care if it is
a leaflet or in a book. Does anyone know of such a thing?

Thanks for your help!

slan,
Jamie

There is a lovely one by Bestitched. Russian Nights Sampler, leaflet #25.
E-mail be...@aol.com. Copyright 1999, so your LNS should still be able to get
it for you.

141 wide by 175 high

Russian alphabet across the top, in a way that it could be stitched separately
from the bottom, which is some gorgeous, colorful, onion-dome architecture.

I have it kitted up with Kreinik braid and black fabric.

Finished 6/11/00 - Twins Sampler (created from bits & pieces by others)
WIP:Holiday Snowglobe, Teen Creed, California Sampler, America the Beautiful
(Nimble Needle), antique green doll (Vervaco)

Well, I was born and raised in Odessa, or Slowdeatha as I used to call
it. Most of my Dad's family are still there (he's in Midland). I
moved with my mom and her mother to Richardson in the mid-80s. My
husband and I moved to Seattle in 93 so that he could attend the
University of Washington for the Ethnomusicology PhD program. Of
course, once we were here and he'd been in classes for a year he
changed his mind and just got a second Masters degree in Library
Science. I have yet to inform my mom that we (I got one too) could
have done this one at UNT and not moved at all! Ha!

Where are you?

I do a little needlepoint, but I find it tedious after a while. This
is a great joke with my great-aunt. She's the one who taught me
needlepoint. I taught myself XS and she finds *it* to be tedious! We
have a good laugh over it. I also do some sewing, primarily costumes
for medieval and renaissance faires, etc. I can do a little crochet
and have completely forgotten anything I ever learned about knitting.
Someday I want to learn to quilt. But, with a new baby, this will be
waaaaaaay down the road!
