My friend uses acrylics and I do not think she has ever had any
problems.
Writing as the proud possessor of a mcoss painted canvas, am I right in
thinking that you apply the paint fairly thinly. Not like when I used
to make model soldiers and plaster the acrylic on almost undiluted!

Thinly enough to make it manageable but thick enough to cover without
filling in the holes. The canvas you have is very roughly painted as I
intended to stitch it myself so it was just really to give me a basic
map. Most handpainted canvases need to be pretty acurately squared
up so that the colour doesn't lay over one and a half stitches if you
see what I mean. Model soldiers are wonderful fun to paint.. are you
still at it.
