Please forgive this method of replying about the Watercolor
exchange, but I have been overwhelmed with responses (ca. 50)
to my idea about exchanging 6" squares for Watercolor Quilts.

This post is an acknowledgment of receipt e-mail indicating
interest after 3/20. I do not have SNAILmail (US Post Office)
addresses for the folks marked with an asterisk. I cannot place
you in an exchange group until I have an address. A home phone
would also be nice, in case of emergency.

Disclaimer: A friend said I should, so here goes: In my original
post, I wanted to find six other folks to exchange Watercolor
Quilt fabrics with. I am most happy to organize as many exchanges
as folks want, however, I am not responsible for the success or
failure of any particular exchange.

That being said, to iterate, this exchange involves each person
being assigned a color. That person will obtain, wash (medium),
dry (medium or better), press, and cut (rotary idea) ten different
6" squares of 6 values of 100% cotton in the color assigned. They
will send off to six folks one packet of 10 squares each by the
assigned date (at least 5 weeks after date of e-mail
notification). This will result in 70 6" squares (including your
own), 10 each in 7 different colors. Each 6" square will yield
nine 2" squares for the quilt.

This post includes only those who have replied after the first
wave. If your name does not appear on that list, or this, please
e-mail me. I will start the Exchange groups within two days.
Those of you who have asked to be included in several groups: You
will be assigned to different groups, not including any folks you
exchanged with before. I cannot be responsible for assigning any
specific colors, so if you are not comfortable with this, please
let me know ASAP. I am uncomfortable with being a "dictator," but
I don't know how else to organize this thing (my daughter says I
have no problems at all being a dictator!)

If you replied in the first batch, but have not sent me your
SNAILmail address, please do so as quickly as you want to get
started on this.

IF YOU WISH TO WITHDRAW, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IMMEDIATELY!!!

If you've mailed in your SNAILmail address to me and haven't received
your color assignments by the time you receive this post, then the
e-mail address you show in your message header is probably incorrect.

If you sent in your name and address before 3/30, please communicate
with me.

Also please be aware that I do not have full Internet access; that I use
a private BBS so I only get mail runs once a day. This means there may
be a lag of two or so days between your sending me a message and your
receiving a reply from me.

Well, if it was just the organizing, I'd be in Fat City. I cannot
believe how many messages apparently did not reach their destinations
(without bouncing) and how many headers are incorrect and messages to
them bounced. If you have not heard from me directly, PLEASE SEND ME AN
E-MAIL WITH YOUR CORRECT ADDRESS.

I will say this for the gazillionth time: I *do not* have full Internet
access and therefore cannot FINGER anyone or use the normal ways to
figure out why messages are either not getting to their destinations or
why they are bouncing.

Exchanges #10-13 are included here. If your name is on the list and you
have not had a personal message from me, you will have to e-mail me your
correct address or call me at [714] 496-4966 (anytime) to figure out
what the heck is going on. If your name is not on this list or the
previous listing of Exchanges 1-9, then you either a) have not sent me
your SNAILmail address, or b) your mail is not getting through to me
(though God knows enough is <g>). My correct e-mail address is
gillian...@solar.org.

Hi Gillian,
I didn't receive my list but I did get an address correction from Margaret
in Texas (with a copy to Gina in Mich, I think) so I e-mailed them both
asking them to send me copies of their lists *sigh*. (I feel as if I'm
broken down by the side of the information super highway, will someone
please call AAA.) My correct e-mail address is: mna...@nx1.soils.umn.edu
which should be appearing at the bottom of every message I send out, but
who knows. Many thanks for all your hard work on this (and sorry to the
group for the personal message, but this is the only way I can be
(reasonably) sure of getting a message to you). BTW, did you post a list
of color assignments for groups 1-8 to the group? If so, it never got to my
machine, does anyone out there know what color I am??? (I want to go
shopping!!!!) :o))) a grin with double chins.
