Need Help in Ceramic Painting

I have a ceramic soap dish that is in the shape of a old fashioned bath
tub that I would like to paint. Does anyone have any ideas on how to
paint this and glaze it. I want this paint to be durable enough to last
during daily usage.

I assume from your query that you are not a potter.

You might try a pottery evening class to gain access to kilns and
materials.

Somewhere/when I was in an arts shop and saw a paint that could be
fired onto ceramc in a domestic oven. I've no idea how much wear it
could withstand, but it might be enough for your usage.

by acciedent i found out that the enamles and accrilics supplied in craft
stores don't burn off at bisque fire temps (cone 06, circa 1880F)! my wife
made some cookie cutter christmas orniments and painted them with such paints.
i told her that if she messed up i would just re-fire them to "erase" the
paint -- except when i did this on a few the paint was still there although at
a softer tone. afterward i paid attention to the fact that fired enamle on
copper techniques have been used for centuries and i guess this is really old
news...
