Future Floor wax idea

The following is an idea I received off a list devoted to model railroading. I
haven't seen it mentioned here but thought that it might be of interest.
Have not tried it myself yet, but the thought of tinted Future wash coats for
antiquing or adding a patina seems like an attractive one.

Future is basically acrylic lacquer. It can be tinted
with any waterbase medium, though the more color you
use the weaker and duller the coat may be. Water
color pencil leaves no grain as water color paste or
cake paints can, and it does not need water so it is
particularly well suited for tinting Future. I scrape
watercolor pencil on enmery cloth and then mix the
dust into the Future.

I do antiquing, upon occasion, with Pearlex powders ( bronze, usually) mixed in
Future. Flow it on, wipe with dampened paper towel, dry. Messy, but with cool
results.
