Tole Painting Help for my MOM

Hi. My Mom just took a short course on Tole Painting and would like to
find more information. She lives in a small town in mid-Ontario and
the library there doesn't have any books or patterns. She does have
access to the net through her grandson (my nephew) although she doesn't
use it herself.

I told her that I often read a crafts newsgroup that has interesting
information and I though I would ask for your help.

There is a great tole and decorative painting site run by Judy Miller,
called Fallriver it's located at
http:/fallriver.ns.ca/fallriver/index.htm
It's located in Nova Scotia,Canada so maybe Judy would have some
tips of places around there or other Canadian groups.
As far as magazines go I think Wood Strokes is a great beginners
decorative painting magazine.

White Rose Nurseries has some beginner books for tole painting, also the
Stockade in Guelph. Perhaps your mother would be able to get to one there.
The Stockade does mail-order.

If you go to my homepage, you will find many craft links that your
mother will enjoy. One of them is Biggest Little Craft Mall. I think
they have a message board just for tole painters. She could access that
board and receive information as well as ask any questions she might

There is also a tole painting mailing list that is run out of canada. It
serves both Canadian and USA painters.
Send a message to art...@fallriver.ns.ca With subscribe and your name
in the body of the letter. Great group with lots of painting tips each
day. They stick to the subject of painting without a bunch of chatter.
