There is a way to take a print or poster and mount it on foamboard and
then make it look like an oil painting. Does anyone know of this
process? Thanks in advance

Hi, that's a great question, I've been looking for info along those lines
myself although I'm wondering how to transfer images/prints to canvas. I've
seen beautiful prints in places like Hobby Lobby, very inexpensively. Then
I've seen those same prints in home decor stores, somehow transferred/mounted
to canvas, then framed selling for a couple hundred dollars. I assume they're
painted over with gel medium (cause I can see brush strokes). I don't think
the print is simply glued onto a canvas so does anyone out there know how it's
done? Many thanks for any help.

Hi, not from my personal experience, but I do recall (100 years ago),
modgepodge touting this. I am assuming in a manner you can visualize.

I would agree, Mod Podge, or other decoupage medium might do it...
enough people have "complained" about the brush streaking from
decoupage that I'd think you could get the effect you want, using a
stiff bristle brush maybe.

Michaels used to provide this type of service. I suggest you ask them;
they are very helpful and, in my experience, don't mind sharing.

Wow, this sounds interesting, like something I might like to try. Do you by
any chance remember what the name of the product is?
