Pay special attention to the "winning bid" field.

Well, I hope that there is not going to be a "bitter divorce" after my

Nah, those old Millers are single-phase really, they jump across 2 phases if
available (here in Europe / UK they pick up 2 of 3 415v phases) but they
will run from 220/240, they just take a *lot* of current.... Just check the
plate on the back, and hook up the links on the transformer primary input
panel as per the 220V winding in the manual (available at
www.millerwelds.com, usually).

The picture was bad. The welder itself is nothing special (though it

The hookup diagram is right there. The manual is not on millerwelds
(no kidding). I think that you are right about single phase.

Actually, the two are pretty much identical in actual power capacity:

40A 400V 3ph ~ 48KW
200A 240V 1ph ~ 48KW

It may well be a DC only welder with 3 phase input. Though the
enclosure looks like the venerable Miller 330 ABP TIG welder, it's
control panel is clearly different and there appears to be a fixed
grill below the panel where the ABP has a lift-up door for access to
the valves and other controls.

Is it actually 3 pha? What is the maximum output current? I'm really not up on welders
but I guess that output voltage is at least 44 volts maybe more. Been a while since I
looked at our welder at work, the power dial is graduated in volts not amps like most
welder.

I was trying to figure out how big a rpc someone would have to be able to power in order
to satisfy the thing.

40A * 1.732 * 400v = 27712 (P=IE*1.732) since it is three phase.
200a * 1 * 240v = 48000 (P=IE*1) since it is three phase.
