Pay special attention to the "winning bid" field.
It is in my truck now.
i
How could we NOT hate you for that. Iggy, if you ever want to come to
NJ to score me a TIG welder, I could go as high as $9.99.
Cool! Nicely done!
Now you DO have a 20 hp rotary phase converter, right?
After all..it is 3ph.

That's OK Ig.
From the picture, I can see that it wouldn't work on the west coast
anyway.

Well, I hope that there is not going to be a "bitter divorce" after my
wife sees it, but no, just a bad listing job by a very honest seller.
i
Not unless you have sideways 3phase power.
But you can simply turn the electrical connector 90' around.
<VBG>
Iggy, Iggy, Iggy. I don't hate you now.
I hated you before. ;-)
BTW, I got the rails on my little trailer. Pressure treated lumber no less.
Now to make a new dump latch. Will post to flickr.
Steve
That will be an awesome trailer, so many uses with removable rails. If
it does not come with a pintly hitch, I would suggest to consider
one.
i
I only use it on my Arctic Cat ATV, so no need for an overkill hitch. Which
reminds me ......... I need to get a long lever and straighten out the ball
on the ATV, which I bent over a little bit pulling out very large boulders.
It's always something.
Steve
No one bid on that? He spelled Miller and welder correctly. It is in the correct place
on ebay.

And just when DO you intend to move to Southern California?
Excuse me a sec. What? Oh.
I've been told that the actual unit would stand perpendicular
to the horizon in any geographical area.
I now hate you as well. :)

You guys do realize that Iggys welder is 3phase only..are you not?
<G>
That welder draws 60 amps at 208/240 and on 3 phase..thats gonna be a
pretty big RPC.
Not a problem. Iggy can deliver it to my shop, where I have a three phase
delta service, 400 amps.
What a deal he got!

40 amp?
Ive got 200 amps of coming in. Even at 230, thats still more than you.
Neener neener neener!!

Gunner
Nah, those old Millers are single-phase really, they jump across 2 phases if
available (here in Europe / UK they pick up 2 of 3 415v phases) but they
will run from 220/240, they just take a *lot* of current.... Just check the
plate on the back, and hook up the links on the transformer primary input
panel as per the 220V winding in the manual (available at
www.millerwelds.com, usually).

Actually 38 amp at 230v.
i
The picture was bad. The welder itself is nothing special (though it
is probably still working well), but the HF attachment is valuable.

I am married to one.
i
The hookup diagram is right there. The manual is not on millerwelds
(no kidding). I think that you are right about single phase.
i
Actually, the two are pretty much identical in actual power capacity:
40A 400V 3ph ~ 48KW
200A 240V 1ph ~ 48KW
Most "Bitter divorcees" can't palletize and load for you. Sounds like
an industrial site.

The key killer words/phrases were "208v", "3-phase", and "local pickup
only", Wes. Besides, nobody in Chitown has a job except Ig and all
the politicians and Acorners, and Ig's business is online.

Uh huh. <grin>
It may well be a DC only welder with 3 phase input. Though the
enclosure looks like the venerable Miller 330 ABP TIG welder, it's
control panel is clearly different and there appears to be a fixed
grill below the panel where the ABP has a lift-up door for access to
the valves and other controls.

You are exactly right. This thing is called LSR1200.
i
Thats not bad..but its 3phase..right?
That would make it hummm 200 amps top?
Blink..blink...that would be 100 amps of 400 volts..wouldnt it?
you are short 60 amps somewhere...<G>

Is it actually 3 pha? What is the maximum output current? I'm really not up on welders
but I guess that output voltage is at least 44 volts maybe more. Been a while since I
looked at our welder at work, the power dial is graduated in volts not amps like most
welder.
I was trying to figure out how big a rpc someone would have to be able to power in order
to satisfy the thing.

When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout.

Back of the knapkin, that sounds like about 300-350 amps on the welding side.

40A * 1.732 * 400v = 27712 (P=IE*1.732) since it is three phase.
200a * 1 * 240v = 48000 (P=IE*1) since it is three phase.
Did I get this right?
Wes
No; you've got the right numbers and wrong answer :)
You probably meant to say "single" instead of "three"
in the second line.
--
jiw
Should be about 200-225
All my 300 amp welders are are 60+ amps
Looks right. but the 200 amp is "single phase"
Englewood. about 5 mile NW of the GW bridge.
Actually 200 amps.
i
Thats what I figured.

Yup. Thanks,
