Palin's title: 'Going Rogue'
By MIKE ALLEN | 9/28/09 6:00 PM EDT
Sarah Palin's publisher plans to announce Tuesday that the title of her
eagerly awaited memoir will be "Going Rogue: An American Life."
Publication is being moved up from spring to Nov. 17 in order to catch the
holiday book-buying season. The former Alaska governor has been in huge
demand as a speaker, and continues to harvest a bounty of media attention.
A mammoth first printing of 1.5 million copies has been ordered - the same
first run as "True Compass," the memoir of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
Palin had a deadline of Sept. 15 for her manuscript and turned it in a bit
early. Copy-editing and fact-checking are now underway in a race to meet the
crash publishing schedule, which has been accelerated four or five months
because of the huge anticipated demand.
After Palin left office on July 26, she went with her husband, Todd, and her
children to San Diego, the home of her collaborator, Lynn Vincent, and
worked on the book for several weeks.
Later, Palin spent several days in New York, going over the final edits.
Palin mischievously embraced the phrase "going rogue" at the end of her
troubled campaign for vice president on the ticket headed by Sen. John
McCain (R-Ariz.).
The phrase has its roots in an Oct. 20 story by Slate's John Dickerson, with
the lead: "Has Sarah Palin "gone rogue"?"
Money the motivation for Palin’s resignation
It appears that a love of money, not any noble cause, was the real
reason Sarah Palin quit as governor of Alaska. On Sept. 22, Palin
gave
a private speech to a group of Hong Kong investors for a rumored
$300,000. Palin won’t confirm that amount.
She also won’t confirm reports that she was given an $11 million
advance for her book deal with HarperCollins (owned by right-wing
billionaire Rupert Murdoch, who also owns Fox News Channel and the
Wall Street Journal). Palin won’t say how much she was paid because
she says she doesn’t want that to distract anyone from what she
writes.
Levi Johnston, who broke off an engagement to Palin’s daughter,
Bristol, says in the latest Vanity Fair Magazine that Palin resigned
as governor so that she could cash in on her newfound fame.
He wrote, “She had talked about how nice it would be to take some of
this money people had been offering us and, you know, just run with
it, say ‘forget everything else.’ ” A spokesman for Sarah Palin
denies
this, but actions speak louder than words.
Palins’ actions prove Levi knows what he’s talking about.
Sarah...the money grabbing bimbo.
The Typical Winger.
Note that she said that money was NOT the reason for her quitting her
job as Governor of Alaska.
In other words....SHE LIED.
Again...The Typical Winger.

Oh, bull. Publishing a book makes perfect sense for her. She can use the
money, especially if she decides to run for something again. And she
probably has the first 1.5 million print run already sold out in bulk sales
to wealthy Republican operatives, like Richard Scaife. Scaife probably will
hand them out to high school libraries all over America. <g> She'll probably
sell more than 5 million copies. Maybe 10 million. What's not to love about
that? I don't see anything to criticize, as much as I dislike Palin.
Besides, she's going to be undercut by a new book about Bush, written by a
bona fide conservative and one of Bush's speechwriters, which will be
published in October. It's full of gemlike quotes from inside the White
House, which make the Republican Party look like a dysfunctional animal
house. Barry Jackson, Bush's political advisor, on John McCain: "He's a
stupid prick."
Then there's Bush himself on Sarah Palin:
"'I'm trying to remember if I've met her before. I'm sure I must have.' His
eyes twinkled, then he asked, 'What is she, the governor of Guam?' ... 'This
woman is being put into a position she is not even remotely prepared for,'
he said. 'She hasn't spent one day on the national level. Neither has her
family.'"
Bush on Obama, in a laugher, trying to convince someone that he (Bush)
actually was qualified for the job:
"He (Bush) came in one day to rehearse a speech, fuming. 'This is a
dangerous world,' he said for no apparent reason, 'and this cat (Obama)
isn't remotely qualified to handle it. This guy has no clue, I promise you.'
He wound himself up even more. 'You think I wasn't qualified?' he said to no
one in particular. 'I was qualified.'"
When Bush was about to give his speech on the bailout proposal, and he
wanted to tell the American people that they were about to "buy low and sell
high," but his advisors told him that wasn't it, that he didn't understand
what it was about:
"Why did I sign on to this proposal if I don't understand what it does?" he
asked.
...a question that many of us have asked in the months since. <g>
_Speech-Less: Tales of a White House Survivor_ by Matt Latimer. It ought to
be good for a couple of weeks on the TV talk-show circuit, especially as a
book-end to Palin's book. <g>

LOL...I think you are correct Ed...I think the book will sell.
There are many stupid conservatives with a few coins to rub
together...yet.
And that is my point...the woman is all about The Money.
She just quit the Governor position...a position she had taken an oath
to up hold for the benefit of the People of Alaska....so her word
means nothing.
Maybe she should change her name to Sarah Judas Palin.
For the sake of the Democrats, I hope that she remains a high profile
Republican.
As history shows us, Obama couldn't have been elected without her
help. ;<)
TMT
I'm sure you have an account there. Beats fucking your fist every
night eh??
Don't you mean to say "Obama couldn't have been elected without the
help of ACORN,George Soros and 97% of the racist black vote"?
Whoring is a right-wing institution and you're just one of its lowly
butt-boys bent over a public toilet every day.
There's some truth in that. Without Acorn, there wouldn't have been as many
Democratic voters. The old machines in several parts of the country had them
pretty well discouraged, still, and the geographic distribution of places to
register and vote still looked like they were set up by Jim Crow -- which
many of them were.
George Soros almost certainly voted for Obama. There's one vote. <g>
And the black racists probably voted for Obama. There's another handful of
votes.
Acorn is the big one, though. That's why Republicans have been trying to
destroy them for years. If Acorn was registering primarily Republican
voters, you wouldn't have heard a word about them. And you can take that one
to the bank.

Sarah wasn't running in a Presidential election you shit
gobbling, drooling dwarf. HULLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ???!!! She was
PICKED by McBeaner.
It wasn't Soros. Soros just got one vote. It was Soros's *money*. Last I
heard, that's the same stuff the Republicans use to fund their organizations
and their campaigns, right? <g>
> Soros doesn't help fund the Tides Foundation,The Apollo

They both use money. I doubt if the Republicans reject any that comes from
Democratic contributors either, do they?

Well I do need to give due credit to George Bush also.
He helped Obama become President.
The one great thing Bush will be remembered for.
TMT
That reminds me....how is Larry Craig doing these days?
TMT
I would agree.
The two "filmmakers" apparently have been funded by the GOP.
TMT
And the Republicans don't do the same thing?
Try reviewing the Bush 2000 election and Karl Rove's tactics.
TMT
It's not just the money, it's how the money is used, whether to
undermine the free system or to work in the open in front of God and
everybody.
Is it used to openly advance a policy or ideology or is it used
surreptitiously to undermine the system and used for duplicity to trick
people to install a system that they don't know they are voting for or
don't want and don't know they are voting for.
Using money to create shell companies to hide the source and path and
real use of the money is not just free speech and campaign funds. Doing
it to hide the real ideology of the people and intentions they have for
the powers they might gain if the reuse is successful is also a problem.
The people behind the money may or may not be good citizens.
Yup, those Republican donors sure suck, don't they? <pffhhht!>
Are you working on a Boy Scout Merit Badge here, or are we talking about
politics? Follow the money. If you like taking risks with your digestion,
follow the money from the medical insurance industry. And for real
entertainment, try following Richard Scaife's money. He makes George Soros
look like *he's* working on a merit badge. <g>
