Too funny. $360 for the banquet, or $560 for both the convention and
the banquet. You gotta' be some kind of rube to think of paying that.
What am I saying? Your posts here every day make it clear that you're
just the kind of nitwit customer they had in mind when they priced the
tickets. Except that I doubt you can afford a ticket or the business
attire required to attend. Luckily, the organizers anticipated the
financial status of their prospective attendees, and have supplied
helpful advice about how to mine "$10-$20" from the pockets of every
other harebrain in your circle. So that you can make the trip, and so
that Palin can afford to shop on Rodeo Drive in order to keep you dumb
clucks mesmerized with her fancy shoes.

You couldn't be more wrong. I'd take my wife so double the banquet
cost.

Can you do the math or do you need me to do it for you?

Compared to the plate price of a DNC fundraiser? Sheesh!

Palin understands that we are working people... the ones who get
things done. But we're not flush with cash, either.

If you think that's high, you should see what the left wing droolers
paid to be in the same building as Yomammy Obammy.

The tea party thing is supposedly a convention for a grass-roots
organization. It could have been held at donated site with free
tickets for the faithful. But you idiots wouldn't expect your idol to
espouse her "principles" for free, would you?

Thank you Captain Obvious. Although judging by the tea party gathering

Corral.

Maybe they'll put a camera under her skirt, so that you can make up a
little a bit for that next strip-joint visit that you'll have to
forego on account of shelling out to see the Queen of Neiman Marcus.

They hire illegals, then get the taxpayers to cover their health
care. So they've got plenty of money for those $10K/plate dinners.

Sarah Palin is the definition of irrational, a volatile and scattered
country-music queen without the music. Her Republican fans defend her lack
of application and intellect, something they generally share with her.

Sarah Palin was the mayor of a podunk town of 9,000 people. Then she was
the governor of Alaska for something over two years, and then quit. That
is the total extent of her experience. Anybody, and I mean anybody else
with that little political experience wouldn't be even considered for a
minute for a high political office. Yet a certain segment of the
population, usually southern and working class, think she's just great
and would vote for her for president in a New York minute. They are
obviously not looking at her qualifications. She has none. But the main
thing is they love her and nothing will change that. So she's in the
process of suckering them into making her rich. Is that a surprise?
She's a republican isn't she? Fleecing the hicks is in their blood.
Being taken is part of being a hick so it's a perfect match. Funny that
the hicks never seem to know that's what they are.

There is a big difference between the left wingers attending Obama's
functions and the people attending Palin's. The left wingers are there
as financial supporters of the Democratic party and the get togethers
are just a way for them to funnel money to the party, and they can
afford it. The right winger tea baggers going to see Palin are working
class folks. They don't have much money, and their money is going into
Palin's pocket not for any political campaigns.

When you can say that I've ever paid a nickel to hear any politician
speak, then you'll have a point. Since that ain't gonna' happen,
you'll always be the chump who tried to impress by pretending to help

Oh please. You nitwits never talk about Palin without mentioning her
appearance. If she looked like your wives she'd still be in Wasilla
living her hillbilly soap opera. The joke is that you're impressed by
someone who makes Dan Quayle sound like an intellectual, and who
spends a huge portion of her life in a makeup chair.

I love Sarah. I just don't want her in politics. She's doing much
better outside it and has a much freer reign, all without costing the
taxpayers any money. The damned Demonrats cost us a fortune while she
was in office with their useless FOI requests.

Yep! Add the people that have had their votes purchased with borrowed
public money. They have voted to drain the treasury for generations for
temporary gain. It's all over if this continues, I'm glad I'm old.

Of the four candidates in 2008, the Democrats put their least
experienced national candidate on the top of the ticket, while the GOP
did it the other way around. And both parties put the one with the

Which still leaves the situation as the one person with the
Executive Office experience (Mayor, Governor) was neither parties

What, one needs proof of some metalworking in order to state the facts
about Palin? OK then. http://www.citlink.net/~wmbjk/clamshell.htm 1500
ft of air line and video camera not shown.

Now, Palin is a hillbilly carpetbagger, and people who see her as
anything more can be divided into 2 camps - those in mongo-denial, and
deprived and/or depraved old farts who should admit to their
proclivity. I know it must be hard for you to imagine how the rest of

I'm just curious. Why did you bring up Obama when the subject was
Palin's lack of experience and qualification. I could have just as
easily have said my neighbor's nine year old boy isn't qualified for
higher office and that wouldn't have anything to do with Palin either.
The question is Palin's lack of qualification, not anybody else's. You
don't like Obama. Fine. But that has nothing to do with Palin. I just
mentioned her achievements and qualifications. To say they are slim is
being nice. They don't amount to a hill of beans. So why can't you just
admit she has no business being considered for any high office? Why not
just call a spade a spade? It seems like you can't help but criticize
Obama every chance you get. That doesn't change Palin's shortcomings
though, does it?

Perhaps I am. A lot of the drool that people try and pass off as thoughtful
conversation ought to tick anyone off, especially in light of the effect
it's had throughout our society Michael.

Differences of opinion aren't what grinds my gears. James Ryan is a friend
of mine and I see him regularly. He keeps telling me how hard it is to make
money in the oil and gas business these days. This guy is on the same
financial plane as the Pope or God himself. When oil was spotting $38.00 I
laughingly asked him if we should put him on a suicide watch or something.
For my part, I keep telling him I'd put a five dollar per gallon tax on gas
if I could. Needless to say, he doesn't think much of my idea but we've
discussed this at length and he understands where I'm coming from. We also
both use the same facts in our discussion. Neither of us tries to pull
numbers out of the air or invent anything. We have an honest dissagreement
that has never resulted in a harsh word.
We also agree on a great many things. One of those is that the Republican
party has gone right off the rails over the last 20 years and that this is a
very bad thing for everyone - even the dems - because it has resulted in a
political climate that is so partisan that the country's best interests are
now secondary.

You sure didn't seem to mind all that "grass-roots" monetary support

Money donated to Obama = campaign contributions donated to his committee
to elect a candidate to office. Good.

Money donated to Palin = is money funneled directly into her personal
bank account for her to spend on herself, not a political candidate. Bad.

To you those are the same?

You obviously do not read the websites you list. This one is about
how the Democrats in control in Illinois have not funded the public
pensions. So your " Pay up " needs to be directed at the Democrats in
Illinois.

"Illinois routinely covers those gaps with short-term measures,
putting off bills and paying less than is recommended into the state's
pension fund. The pension plan has unfunded liabilities of nearly $80
billion -- among the worst in the nation, with no solution in place
for catching up."

"In 2003, for example, Illinois under then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich sold
$10 billion in 30-year bonds to cover two years' worth of payments to
the pension fund. The proceeds from the bond sale went into an
investment portfolio that included stocks; the expected profits
haven't materialized, leaving Illinois far behind"

That hasn't happened elsewhere Michael and it wouldn't happen here.

> Are you
> really that stupid, or just bad at trolling?

I just have a lot more faith in America and American's than you do.
I also have a lot of faith in Jimmie's ability to figure out a way to make a
buck.
You could turn him, and the rest of the real business community, loose in a
fucking Gulag and they'd end up running the show, drinking champagne and
otherwise making bank.

Herb Kelleher, whom I also know, didn't build his business on cheap
anything. He built in by instilling his exceptional character and integrity
throughout his business in the service of it's customers. I watched him fire
a very senior guy in an airport just for lying one time and sticking with
his lie rather than coming clean. Left the fucker to catch a commercial
flight home on his own dime, he did.

That, really, is why our financial system just fell right on it's ass. You
can argue the mechanism or the merits till hell won't have it but underlying
all of that is the key ingredient that's missing, and that includes the
American public at large. The courage to have integrity and any display of
good character.

BTW, these people are a cut above me as far as I'm concerned, but just
knowing or doing business with them makes me a better person and that is how
I now select customers. POS need not inquire. I'd rather be homeless.

That five dollar tax would tripple fuel costs overnight. That would
ripple theor the priice of everything you buy, including food. Food
prices around here have gone up a little over 50% over the last 18
months.
