The Dixie Chunks and the Robertsons aren't remotely comparable. The
Dixie Chunks offended their own fucking audience; that audience reacted,
entirely within their rights. The Robertson comments offended queers
and their allies, the self-styled Great Defenders of Queers, who are
*not* part of their audience. Those offended pantywaists tried to get
the Robersons and their show punished, even though the pantywaists
aren't part of the audience.

The difference is, when the Chunks offended their audience, that
audience rose up and said "*WE* don't want to hear their music." In the
case of the pantywaist queers who were offended by Robertson's comments,
they said "*YOU* who like their program should no longer have the right
to see it." That's the big difference: the left, as always, was trying
to censor what *OTHERS* get to watch and hear, based on their values.
That's just wrong.

It seems that Phil Robertson can say anything he wants. No one is going
to stop him. He has the 1st Amendment to protect him, just like
Chicken-Fil_A. On the other hand, a sponsor may not want someone who

for the United States of America."

Where ever you look in the Declaration, and the Constitution it says,
"We".

against the other. If I pray, and to who, and who is in my bed is none
of your damn business. A house divided will not stand. The world has
changed. Black people have the same rights as White People. Women can
vote now. We got rid of the king, and are supposed to have a republic.

It should be " Free marketplace of ideas " not " free market " of ideas. The idea being that all ideas should be allowed to be presented and the best ideas will prevail. In other words one should not try to dictate what people say, Which is pretty much exactly opposite of what you want to happen.

Sponsors are free to extend or withdraw their sponsorship according to
whatever criteria they have.

The issue, of course, is that Cracker Barrel and other sponsors probably
were quite happy to continue their sponsorship, until they started
getting threatened by queers.
