FWIW..... "Stewart Haas Racing Bike" episode. Before or after jail??

Paul Teutul Sr. is lookin skinny, haggard, yo. The show seems a lot tamer
than a few seasons ago.... haven't seen it for a number of seasons, due to
nausea....

Teutul & Haas -- gotta be one hand washing the other, since all of Teutul's
machines are haas. Figgers....

Big effing shop, tho. Teutul also has a big-ass steel warehouse/structural
fabricating deal out back, that you rarely get to see.

He's not that far from me, I keep meaning to drive up there and egg all his
property.....

A few years ago, a friend of mine and I rode our bikes up there from
Northern, NJ on a weekend. It was in the 60's and raining hard. We arrived
5 minutes before they closed down the old shop and they wouldn't even let us
in to dry off.

...Now, I'm 5' 8" tall and was around 270 lbs. My friend is 6' 8" tall and
*at least* 450 lbs... It's not like they missed seeing us out the window or
something. :)

Indian Larry was the man. Too bad he's dead.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Desmedt

OCC is silly entertainment, Jesse James is pretty
good, but neither held my attention like Indian
Larry.

He was on the tube? Never saw him.

But, imo, ALL these shows are silly, which is a special shame, cuz all these
shows *could* be highly educational, riveting, if you will.

Instead, it seems they are diabolically designed to leave the viewer with
zero clues as to what is really going on, there is so much sleight of hand,
editing wizardry. Yeah, you see a little mig, a little bending, but none of
the process.
And indeed, why spill the beans, eh?

I'm sure people already skilled in the art get a few tips, ideas, etc, but
the rest of us are just dodging wads.

So instead of any insight, education, we get a bunch of eyecandy, sophomoric
""humor"", and assholes J'gTO in our hair, that's such a bitch to wash
out.... I hate that.....

In fact, I stopped riding motorcycles cuz the helmets always messed up my
hair.... so you can imagine how I feel about wads.....

Pawn Stars is almost stomach-able -- really, a more inneresting Antiques
Road Show, and sans all those asshole homeowners. Much more inneresting to
see some gambler tryna cop some quick cash to feed his habit, pay off a
debt.
.
However, now that Pawn Stars seems to finding its "rhythm', and more
importantly, the pulse of the Viewing Assaholics, it's getting more
choreographed, predictable, and stupid.

And, whazzup with all these mongoloid kids, from these successful bidniss
owners? Mikey..... Big Hoss??? goodgawd.....

occ is just marketing, marketing genius certainly; however when money

they go tits up.

Saw a little bit of it, with Sr. "welding" on the grille, conveniently
out of sight on the other side from the camera, in a helmet,
gloves...and tank top? You honestly expect me to believe you got a
multimillion dollar custom shop like that and can't afford a couple
pairs of leathers?

Heck, I bet the cameraman is wearing a set just to stop from getting a
tan...

Almost everything you see, all the home shows, HGTV, *everything* is slight
of hand.

There were a cupla decent ones, Lynette Jennings, my fav gay Christopher
Lowell, who really put some intellect and perspective on all this home shit,
but they're gone. They really *dignified* the subject, instead of turning
it into a carnival act.

There's a cupla truck shows, you know, with the squeaky clean checkerboard
garage floor, which I suspect are advertisements for vendors. Sheeit, you
gotta be an engineer or a real buff to keep up with that stuff, it goes so
quick.

There was a ditty on This Old House (the progenitor of alladis shit), where
they musta been running out of old houses, cuz they did a behind-the-scenes
bit.
THEY showed how it took, like, 13 takes to get the simplest shit done for
the camera!!!
Holy shit... when the show ITSELF tells you they're lyin, I guess, well,
you gotta bleeve, right?

Reminds me of the new Domino's Pizza commercials: HEY, Our pizza USED TO
SUCK, but, it's good NOW!!
Oh yeah???

Funny, you weren't sayin that when it sucked, yo.....

i live nearby (9 mi.) OCC, let us know when you're going.
(i'm not going to be doing any egging though, don't want big paul to wrench
my head off and pee down my neck.)
OCC is right at the foot of one of the runways of stewart airport. there's
an air national guard unit there.
http://www.dmna.state.ny.us/ang/105/105.php
they fly C5-As (and the smaller ones too, can't remember the designations,
17's?). it's cool to see those awesome hulking C5-As take off and land.
(my brother works there, *years* ago i got a tour of a C5-A, we went up and
out the hatch of the T tail, standing on top of the elevator, was cool. OCC
is right next door to an orange county solid waste transfer station. in the
summer when the wind blows the right direction it's pretty stinky. their
old location (which would prolly be of no interest to anyone) is only a few
miles further down the road.
there's an art bronze foundry near their old location. the art bronze
foundry is way fuckin' interesting. but it depends, sometimes they've got
some awesome shit in the work area, some other times not, but i mean,
whatever they've got going on is fascinating. in the summer they usually
have the roll up door open so you can peek in. i went there a couple weeks
ago and they were ok with letting me come inside and walk along the balcony
that overlooks the shop, but no shop tours though. i wonder if it might be
possible with a call ahead(?). there were some big name artist's work there
on the floor, but nobody any of you guys would've heard of. (oh, and i'm
sure many here would loudly declare it "isn't art!" anyhow.) worth the side
trip if you're in the area. http://www.polichtallix.com/ i'm pretty sure
polich can cast stainless, which i believe is unusual for an art foundry.

b.w.

Started around 2004, late 2008 or early 2009 Teutul's agreed to pay
half a million or so to settle. Add up the lawyers fees and they
screwed themselves out of about three hundred thousand or so (net). It
could have been a lot worse though, I suspect the creditors wanted to
settle and get some cash sooner rather than wait a few more years.

I does take a long time, and many takes to get what they want. I was in an
episode of "Canadian vignettes" a few years ago. It took a whole morning to
get what they wanted. In the end they got me to do the computer geek part,
and they wrapped it in two takes.

I did not see the episode with Gene Haas, but I did catch part of the
show which is supposed to be their last.. They were going to build a
Kobalt bike for Lowes. My only thought was...... it's not a true
Kobalt bike unless it's built in China like all the Kobalt tools.

Thank You,
Randy

How much of that cheap, gaudy, Junk do you think comes from China
already?
Shouldn't be much of a stretch for them.
