Indonesian students protest Barack Obama's visit

Fri Mar 5, 7:53 am ET
JAKARTA, Indonesia - Scores of Islamic students staged protests outside
Jakarta's parliament and in at least three other major Indonesian cities on
Friday against President Barack Obama's upcoming visit to this predominantly
Muslim country.

The students carried banners branding Obama as an enemy of Islam and an
imperialist in downtown Jakarta as well as in the provincial capitals
Padang, Yogyakarta and Surabaya.

They also threw shoes at large pictures of Obama's head. An Iraqi journalist
was sentenced to a year in prison for throwing his shoes at U.S. President
George W. Bush during a news conference in Baghdad in 2008.

Protest organizer Ahmad Irhamul Fikri, spokesman for the Coordinating Board
for Campus Proselytizing Institute, said bigger rallies will be staged next
Friday in more Indonesian cities ahead of Obama's March 20-22 visit.

Such demonstrations of hostility toward Obama are rare in Indonesia, where
he enjoys widespread popularity because he spend part of his childhood in
Jakarta while his mother was married to his Indonesian stepfather.

Local government officials allowed business people to erect a statue of a
10-year-old Obama in a Jakarta park in December. But it was shifted last
month to a nearby elementary school that he attended after more than 50,000
people supported a Facebook campaign against it and court action was
threatened.

Obama is expected to sign the statue's pedestal while in Jakarta.

A big lie indeed, since all it takes to get Democrats to rubber-stamp a
use-of-force or any other resolution is to attach it to a trillion
dollar spending bill.

You seem to interpret my criticism of Democrats as support for
Republicans. I was merely observing that Bush didn't need to lie about
Iraqi WMDs, since Democrats will rubber-stamp anything containing a
dollar sign and the word 'trillion.'

Bush would have been smart to just insert the use-of-force resolution
into a farm subsidy bill. Democrats don't bother to read the bills the
rubber-stamp, and would never notice.

People that lied be held accountable? They should be but that isn't the
liberal way. If a woman lies and tells a man that he is father of her baby
and he believes her, child support gets pinned on him. If he finds out he
is not the father by scientific DNA proof, he should be paid every penny
back, but instead the child support continues and won't be lifted thanks to
Liberals like Bill Bradley. But thanks to the liberals, the woman isn't
punished for lying, she's rewarded, lying makes her a good liberal.

But if you want to hold people accountable for lying, how about the
Democrats that lied the last 2 elections. In 2006 "It's all the republicans
fault, elect us and we'll fix everything", the Democrats won big in 2006 and
gas prices doubled. They didn't fix anything even though they were the
majority. Then in 2008, "It's all Bush's fault, we majority Democrats take
no responsibility", well, it's true they didn't do anything, but they were
able to lie and win another election. Now it's Democrat majority everywhere
in government so what do they do? They continue to blame Bush. I saw the
economy go to crap when Obama pulled ahead in the polls, but the lying
Democrats still blamed Bush. But the Democrats did manage to get a
Republican elected to replace Kennedy and we will see what happens next
election.

But I agree that those that lied should be held accountable, it's just not
how our government works, liars are rewarded. But why did the soldiers find
Iraqi gas masks and such at their positions? Why did the Iraqi's have
barrels and barrels of insect repellant in a ditch? It made soldiers sick,
just because it kill insects, does that mean it couldn't be used as a
chemical weapon? If Iraq could hide so many scud missiles why couldn't they
hide chemical or biological weapons? After agreeing to inspections, why did
Saddam continue to stop inspections? If we wouldn't have invaded Iraq and
they ended up with nukes, would the liberals that prevented it been held
accountable? Were the liberals that were responsible for 9/11 held
accountable?

It's the process of fertilization and coming out of the womb. It is a
tad more than simply a change of location as it also changes the entity
to a child and not a parasite (although some parents may disagree with
that and say that phase lasts for another 18 years), it changes the
feeding habits of both parent and child and it causes at least one of the
parents (usually the male) to realize that his dream of running around on
his Harley is now just a dream again.

As for all of your false equivalency, how many 10s of thousands of

How many 10s of thousands of Iraqi's dies because of lies by the Bush

What sort of accountability id there for killing 10s of thousands of

So there was no moral dilemma to grapple with til then.

Birth control has nothing to do with theology unless keeping the coffers

did she leave the lights off and the door unlocked?

If you don't put on a seat belt and you get thrown through the
windshield in an accident, is it your fault?

Typical, no consistancy or conviction in your beliefs. Just cowardice
when forced to confront your own failings.

>
>
>If you don't put on a seat belt and you get thrown through the

The unassing the vehicle is your fault. The accident and the results
from the accident, including the damages associated with unassing the
vehicle may leave someone else legally culpable. However any
subsequent finding by the courts may be adjusted due to the lack of
seat belt.

Now coward:

So is it the woman's fault she got raped?

You want to blame the people of the United States of America for
believing the President of the United States on matters of national
security. How stupid are you?

Alas, the world is full of people like that, as is alt.atheism.

I have defined no god. And when I do need to define some god for the
purposes of discussing its nature with atheists I always define the
supposed some god in the very same concrete and arbitrary terms, without
variation:

God = Metaphysical X

Watching you idiot atheists witlessly pinning your own lunatic

[
In summer 2002, Kiriakou was back working at headquarters in Virginia when he
was summoned to a top-secret meeting. He said he was told the Bush
administration had decided the United States was going to invade Iraq in the
spring -- it was a done deal. His job was to support the mission. Kiriakou said
he was dumbfounded. "Here was someone at the CIA, obviously plugged into the
plans of the executive branch, telling us that the public debate in Congress,
reflected almost daily in the press, meant nothing." Months later, Congress
passed a war resolution.

How about a little boy that teases a dog and gets bit, is that like a
girl getting raped, some girl who teases a boy and gets "bit"?

I was taught that if you teased a dog and got bit, it was more or less
your own fault.....

This Idea that all women are innocent links back to your Oedipus complex
and your belief that your mommy is pure and innocent and we all know
little boys who get bit by a dog are mischievous so it's OK to blame them.

I don't recall saying that any specific amount is sufficient.

I'm wondering why one is NOT the fault of the teased, while society says
the other is? It seems to all be in your head. No facts.

Did I suggest it was Justified, I suggested that there may be reasons
that it occurs, not the right or wrong of it. It's you who assign the
blame, I point out the probable cause.

You are launched through the windshield because you were wearing no seat
belt, it happens because you chose to wear or not wear the things that
could in bad situation save you from some harm, you chose to ride rather
than walk, I don't lay blame.... but you should except responsibility
for your actions.

Maybe women should have a *Chastity belt law* . You know, to keep them

Nice backpedal, coward.

Because one is a non-sentient animal. I know that is obviously
something to which you can relate.

That you can't figure that out was totally unsurprising.

"probable cause"
Please tell me how you differentiate blame and cause in your
statement.

Specifically if you are not blaming the rape victim then how can they
be the cause.

>You are launched through the windshield because you were wearing no seat

So, it is the fault of the rape victim as they were "teasing" and
therefore they should take responsibility for some other supposedly
sentient being raping them.

That you can equate an accident involving no one but the victim with a
violent assault perpetrated by one person upon another is at best
bizarre and quite possibly sociopathic. In your case that might be
sociopathetic.

Get help.

You would like having the ability to control women.

Rather than blame the victim, as you just did again, supposed *men*
like you should be castrated as a preventative measure. You know,
blame the perpatrator.

Because the dog does not think, it reacts.

blame and probable cause
go ahead, define how those are different in this case.

Either the rapist had probable cause or the rapist never has probable
cause.

Define what the probable cause that would make the rapist less
culpable, be specific as to the rationale behind your definition:

>

Now you go from non-sentient to inanimate to justify the actions of a
rapist.

Castration law for *men* who cannot understand the difference between
rape and a car accident.

I doubt any life is "non-sentient".

I have never even been accused of any crime against a woman. You would
be doing what is typical of Liberals.... you would be emasculating a

NO, I'm fine with all my medical and insurance, no added costs.....

They might lay in a hospital intensive care at age 86 and cost more so
death now is minor. Besides insurance is for the other guy in car
accidents, not for me, if it gets too expensive I quit driving.
