Forgive me if I don't get too excited about a cheap boat
1200 miles away.

What..its a Capri 22, its in your price range and is it actually 1200
miles away? Is that how far Florida is from your place in Texas?

In land or water miles?

Or are you now claiming that Capris are "cheap boats" despite asking
me to find you one "within range"?

As Ive stated..they made 1500 of them give or take ..and they arent as
easy to find as zits on the neighbor kids face. LEAST of all if you
live "Deep in the heart of Texas"

So be it. You lost the one in Galvastin because of your temper
tantrums..I wont bother looking for them for you. So far Ive found
you (4) of them and each and every time you turned up your nose
because of some horseshit reason.

Looks like you are all talk and no walk.

Or you are hoping the Used Sailboat Fairy will deliver one to your
curb with a big pink bow on it.

Sorry Rich...nice fantasy..but..not so much "real world"

http://forums.sailinganarchy.com/index.php?showtopic=88791

"Go for it. After 4 or 5 sails, it'll make a nice lawn ornament.

The rating is simply indicative of the lack of speed the Capri 22
shows. the design did not transfer well form the 25-a much faster,
better boat! You will get crushed by Tuna 20s, J-24s and Ranger 26s.
About the only boat you will beat is:

or
Attached File Hot_yacht.jpg 20.98K 17 downloads
or
Attached File Shitbox_3.jpg 107.41K 32 downloads

Look for a Capri 25. OH!! There's a Fun 23 (Ranger) in SA
Classifieds...a much better choice, better sailing and it's faster.
Lowball them, the boat market is softer than Chaney's pecker. "

Gunner, let the old reprobate find his own bloody boat.

He obviously doesn't want your help. Take the hint.

Please.
And God bless you too, Larry.

I'm in no more hurry to buy the wrong boat than I am

So if you are looking for an Expensive boat to blow your bucks
on...buy a new one.

http://www.catalinayachts.com/yachts.cfm?act=model&id=73&sid=2

After all...its only $21,700. Plus the trailer

>Yes, it's that far from Dallas to Sarasota.

Sounds like a weekend trip. What..no holidays coming up? Or why not
have a limousine company tow it out to the Great Stake of Texas and
pay full mileage both ways and of course put the crew up at the
Holiday Inn or the Mariot or someplace. Or better yet..charter a
Gulfstream one way and after you look the boat over..go pick up a new
F-250 and simply drive it back. Thats an easy weekend trip for you
one way. And you will be able to piss all the money you want to spend
everywhich way possible. Dont forget my 25% finders fee and my $.55 a
word rate for telling you about it.

Of course. But Im screwing with him. <VBG>

He "had" to have this boat..(and its a slug from the
factory)..claiming its the best thing since sliced bread and nothing
else will do for him. So I found him (4) of them while doing other
duties (my Freesailboat group...and presented each of them to him..yet
he pisses on his own feet in the process.

I suspect Richard has this lofty Goal in his head..but thats all it
is...a fiction to make a paper effort to reach for. Like a Lefty
claiming he/she/it wants to :"end poverty"..but refuses to spend a
penny of their own money. Sounds good on paper..but when the rubber
meets the road...

So far..Ive located 385 boats under $1000...and a dozen or two
slightly over that...(Grin)...and a significant number of them will do
exactly what he wants them to do..but dont have the name Catalina
Capri on them...so they are just "junk shit"...which I believe was a
direct quote.

A significant number of them are plug and play...ready to go sailing
out of the box...the owners are moving and in this market...cant sell
the boats for anything near what they are worth....so they are selling
em for what they can get.

Just an example..shrug

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/freesailboats/conversations/messages/5164

As I mentioned a week or so ago..I was offered a 42ft yawl..for free.
Add fuel, water and grub..and do a circumnavigation of the planet.

The slip however costs $725 a month....not something I can afford..and
given that it weighs about 45,000 lbs...its not something I can pull
behind the Ranger on a trailer. So I passed it up. Sadly...very very
sadly.

A Tartan 42....like this one

Well ... I don't know about where you are, but where my father
kept his boat(s), there was a less expensive option. A mooring buoy
allocated to him in the harbor, and a rowboat to get out to the craft
and leave on the buoy until you get back from your sail. Later, he did
use a slip, as the years turned convenience to a higher value than
savings. :-)

Enjoy,
DoN.
