These factories always seem to need taking apart at about the same
time every week. The schedule reminds me of a friend who had bypass
surgery, and attended therapy/followup, wait for it.... once a week.
What an amazing coinkydink. You *know* that with all these hundreds of
posts per day, sooner or later you'll slip up and mention the therapy.
What's the point of writing yourself into a future hole that you'll
then need to yet more hundreds of posts as part of a futile escape

You're deluded. If he were willing to work at a job he'd have had one
long ago. Offer it again if you think you can change such people. But
no more fishing, you'll be busy chauffeuring gummer's growing clan of
leeches to the social services offices, and reading phony macho posts
from gummy on the same days he phoned in sick. In your spare time you
could write apologies to your neighbors explaining what ever possessed

Your irrational partisan rhetoric doesn't fool me. If you believe that
people with gummy's "conservative" record make good employees, then by
all means hire them. Even if they were good for your company, I don't
see how they'd be good for your state, and I note that you haven't
made any effort to explain your reasoning on that count.

Here's what we know about the gummer fandamily.

http://tinyurl.com/qweaoq
http://tinyurl.com/pf22ny
http://tinyurl.com/r5hrl3
http://tinyurl.com/qb2y4o
http://tinyurl.com/p3t89q
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.machines.cnc/msg/7f8dc0540354ade1

The record isn't complete by any means, but there's every indication
that the total of their leeching could hit a million before long. How
many "conservative" families like that can Ohio afford? How many are
you willing to take responsibility for inviting?

> I'll bet you don't "actually" work, do you?
>On the gov tit?

Changing the subject won't help you either, the facts just aren't on
your side. I'm "retired" http://www.citlink.net/~wmbjk/solar100.htm. I
used to own a small manufacturing outfit, and a few of my friends
still run small businesses. None of us would knowingly hire a gummer
type, although it does sometimes happen anyway. Advertising that you
*want* one is indefensible. But as I said, more power to you. Get out
your wallet and put your money where your mouth is. Heck, you might be
able to come out ahead by selling the story of the adventures of the
Taft hillbillies moving to Ohio. Such stuff has probably made more
money for Jerry Springer than you or I could ever dream of.

And yet you won't make him an actual offer, or address the true cost
of bringing him to your state, or even acknowledge that there would be
a cost. Who the hell are you anyway to be inviting more deadbeats to
Ohio? Don't you have enough already? I very much doubt that you intend
to pay for his family's healthcare. What would you say to other
Ohioans who ask you why they should be subsidizing your business by
paying for the healthcare of your employee, who won't even quit
smoking to help minimize the cost of his freeloading? What would you
say to his landlord when gummy stops paying, like he has his present
county? What would you say to gummer's neighbors when his dogs keep
them awake? What would you say to other taxpayers when they have to
shell out for gummy's grandkids' education, or for welfare payments to
his kid, who gummy claims "can't" work? If you ever try addressing the
serious issues involved then I might start taking you seriously. Until
then you're just like gummy - all partisan mouth, and no action.

Oh sure, "full-boat health care" for a bypass/stroke survivor who
won't stop smoking. LOL If it was even possible back when he had his
first event, it wouldn't have been affordable. But I could be wrong,
so let's see you post a link to a healthcare plan showing the premiums
for somebody with gummer's risk. And make it a family plan, 'cause if
you invite gummy then you need to take responsibility for his whole
clan of leechers. Wife with her own advanced health issues, kid who
has so many problems that he supposedly "can't" work, fat wife and a
couple of kids being brought up in a smoke-filled home. The mother of
all "pre existing conditions". Or were you planning to pretend, as
gummer does, that all of them are somehow on their own?

>and had a rural house lined up where his critters would be welcome. Ask
>him.

Have you forgotten that he recently claimed multiple times to own his
home "free and clear"? Why would you expect anyone to take his word
for anything?

You call importing deadbeats "supporting the community"? I
guarandamntee you that the "community" would not agree.

> Beat that!

There's nothing to beat. Your post has the same value as gummy's rambo
shtick.

> I'd be happy to have Gunner if I could, he'd make
>money for me, he has puppy blood.

Then take him. Don't bother pretending that he won't come. Make it
worth his while and he'll be there on the next bus. Oh wait, wouldn't
want to do without him that long... include first class airfare to
sweeten the deal and increase your profit, right? Heck, post a public
offer right here so we can get an idea of how much money you expect to
make from him. Too funny.

I dare you, post some names of "the guys" who make payroll on credit
cards, along with the proof of your claim. I sez you just made that
up, which makes your "I never lie" claim baloney of gummer's caliber.

Gawd, you're so full of crap. Nobody has said or implied that you're

now for making up silly strawmen.

And thus spoke Wayne (with no visible means of support) to a chap what
owns a company that has been in business for 130 years with no signs
of failing.... Who you gonna listen to?

When I was a young fella folks listened to people with a bit of

Thanks John, and my credit cards thank you. All at zero balance now but I
juggled debt around on them when that was my only choice and played the zero

never get that. My employees never got their pay checks late even though I
sweated bullets in some tough years.

OK, damnit, I thought I was out, but they pulled me back in...

1) I don't know what state this alleged job offer is in, but here in
New Jersey, the insurance companies are not allowed to factor
"preexisting conditions" into health insurance rates. In fact, there
are no medical questions of any kind on an employee's health insurance
application. Nor are there any questions about smoking. The result of
this is that anybody can get insured, but it is frightfully expensive.

2) I am what you would probably classify as a bleeding heart liberal.
I own my home (almost free and clear, another couple of years on the
mortgage). I have owned my business since 1984. I have NEVER missed or
been late with payroll. I pay my taxes on time. I don't owe a dime to
anyone except the little bit left on the mortgage. I have a backlog of
work. My credit report is spotless. I donate to charities. I am
politically active. I am a former (I let my membership lapse not
because of any ideological differences, but because my interests had
changed) NRA member. I am, most certainly, a community organizer, and
an activist. I am pro choice but not necessarily anti war.

The point is that you all are making general statements which, while
somewhat entertaining, are simply not true in all cases. Sorry
Buerste, I don't fit your mold, and Sorry Wayne, Gunner's family would
be as insurable as any other, at least in New Jersey.

All that said, speaking for myself, I'd prefer if Gunner and his crew
stayed in California or, even better, somewhere further away than
that.

There's an old Jewish proverb, in which a rabbi tells a man that there
is a prayer for everyone. The man asks the rabbi if there is even a
prayer for the Czar. The rabbi replies, "Sure. God bless and keep the
Czar . . . Far away from us!"

So we here in New Jersey are praying for Gunner. God bless and keep
Gunner . . . Far away from us!

You're just like gummy in that you prefer to pull opinion out of thin
air, and try to cast every discussion in left/right terms rather than
debate facts. Why don't you just come out and say in plain English
*why* you think it's OK for gummer to have racked up 25 years of
liens, a whole lot of which he could have paid out of his cigarette
budget. I never knowingly hired people like that, and I sure as hell
wouldn't want to have to explain to my friends and neighbors why I
invited someone like that to come and leech off them.

Baloney. News reports are full of horror stories about people losing
their insurance, not being able to get insurance, or not being able to
afford insurance. If you had a way to supply insurance affordably for
somebody with gummy's problems, then you'd have posted a link to the
plan as I asked.

>Gunner has too many ties and too many opportunities to move here

WTF? His ties are to family members that he's dissed mercilessly in a
public forum. He has so few opportunities that he spent most of last
month in a chair pounding out nearly *4000* Usenet posts. He's in dire
straits, and if you had any intention of helping him you'd have done
so by now. Still, it's not too late. For a few hundred you can pay his
most recent property tax bill
http://www.kcttc.co.kern.ca.us/payment/ATNDetails.aspx?NUMBER=03946026002&NUM_TYPE=AT&YR=C.
It's the least you should do if he's helped you as much as you say,
and it might even prevent him becoming homeless. If the sheriff
arrives tomorrow to lock him out, wouldn't you feel like a heel for
not putting up a few hundred to help out? And what's stopping you from
organizing all his other friends <snicker> to make some donations?

> but I was

You seem to have switched back to past tense again. No matter, he's in
way worse shape now than he was a few years ago. If you're able to
help with anything more than empty words, then what's the holdup?

You first. Or have you forgotten to have blurted out a bunch of crap
about me being on the public tit, without a shred of proof? Your new
angle is that you're able to afford to hire a deadbeat, implying that
you can somehow move his expenses from public to private funds. I
don't believe that, or much else that you've written. That doesn't
mean it couldn't possibly be true, just that it seems highly unlikely,
particularly considering that you continue to fail to put your money
where your mouth is.

> You, as a habitual liar, expect everyone to be untruthful. How

Still talking I see. Do you need gummer's phone number? Why not call
him and make an offer he can't refuse? $50k salary, moving expenses,
and an affordable home aught to do it. Throw in 4 weeks paid vacation
and a company car and bob's your uncle.

I was talking about New Jersey. I didn't know we were talking about
Ohio. Hmmm, is Ohio far enough away that I'd feel Gunner-Safe(tm)?
Nope. He should stay in California, or maybe a few hundred miles west

More seriously, there's a lot that could be done relatively cheaply to
help him, *if* there's anybody willing to do it. IIRC, all the county
liens could be cleaned up for about $12k, perhaps even substantially
less with some negotiating. Most likely he'd still be insolvent, and
his health care will continue to drain public coffers. But getting
caught up with the county would at least put him on somewhat better
moral ground if he intends to keep blasting out posts critical of half
the damned country. Has anyone contributed even a nickel to gummy's
cause?
