I don't know of a list of shows, but in the L.A. area there are:
WESTEC (Western Tool Exposition & Conference)
Los Angeles Convention Center
March 27-30, 1995
Job Shop Show, held each year at the Anaheim Convention Center
If you do come up with a source for a list, please post it.

The only source I can think of is a printed source such as "American
Machinist" They usually have an issue on all the major shows but rarely
the minor shows. CNC West has info on the West Coast shows usually. AM
is a Penton publication which is free to qualified recipients. So is CNC
West. Since both of these mags are trade publications, you should be
able to ask them about the show dates and either should know. AM knows
about the European ones in Germany and Italy as well as the major ones in
Chicago and LA. The main phone # for Penton Pubs is 216-696-7000 but you
might try a query by fax a 216-621-8469.

WESTEC however is TOOLS. There is very little about welding,
fabrication, and metal art. There are a *LOT* of small companies
there, however, that make interesting stuff. Plan for a whole day
as it takes both big halls of the LA Convention Center.
