Making a braggot.

Had honey transfer issues on brew day (60 lbs stored cold), figured I'd
just add later. Got it sorted out and put in 6lbs on day 1, shortly
after the kreusen fell. Things are percolating along nicely, but I'm
undecided as to whether I need to stir the honey that's sitting there in
a layer on the bottom, or if the yeast will eat their way into it if I
use patience (I generally use patience a lot, but have not had this
particular issue before). If it will resolve itself with time, I'll
leave it be. If it needs stirred, I'll probably give it a few more days
and then stir it.

Agree completely. Patience is a virtue with braggot.

In the next carboy is a mead with the same issue - looked like it was
going nowhere until I set something to gauge the honey-line - slower,
but also going down steadily.

Meanwhile, the cider from Thanksgiving of 2008 is suggesting that I have
too much patience (or am lazy), and should really get it into bottles
one of these days, and then go back to being patient (or lazy.)
