I'm partial to purple and green but lately I've been in a white mood.
Pearl and gold, white on white, white and extremely pale pastels.

I like brown/tan with black.
Sandra
Purples, bronze, and greens (olivine). Periwinkle and aqua.

I am really enjoying using sterling silver and matte black glass. From there I
toss in rich purples, or reds, or olivine. I just can't stop playing with my
sterling and black!

Oh bother, and I was just finishing up a nice package of vintage Swarovski
Light Topaz AB beads to send off in hopes of replacing that dreadful dried

Ok - my absolute FAV-O-RITE color combo is teal and purple, but a very close
second is Orange and Hot Pink (yea, you read that right, LOL!!). I also
absolutely LOVE purple and red together (it is a recurring color theme in my
scrapbook pages, LOL). I don't use a lot of *neutral* colors in my jewelry
making - I think because I really love vibrant, high-energy colors.

I am working on a color-request necklace for a friend, but her colors are
wonderful -- grapey-purples, shallow-swimming-pool-aquas, lime greens. Really
fresh, but has depth too. A pleasure to please her!

Seconded, I love this combo it looks *amazing*. BTW this is a longshot and I
think I already know the answer but are there any bright pink gems that
aren't Tourmaline? Not that I don't like it, it's just the price that makes
me feel slightly icky

Never used this in jewellery but today I'm wearing burgundy boots with
purple heels - and they make me *so* happy! (not my feet though)

Lol, It may be easier to ask what we don't like!
I love turquoise, especially with pink (next thing on my to buy list are
some of those weeding cake beads in this combo) and also with purple.
Aqua colours always go down well and I made a very pretty necklace with
serpantine and amethyst that works quite well
As you do polymer clay I reckon black backgrounds with bright colours always
go down well

Oooohhhh -- I just LOVE tourmaline!!! But when I am going for bright pink in
my jewelry, I generally reach for Swarovski crystals or fiberoptic beads.. You
could try rhodochrosite or rhodonite but they wouldn't be nearly as *bright.*
>I'm wearing burgundy boots with purple heels<
Fun feet, LOL!!
OK, I had to ck the (in)famous list to remember where you are Rachel! Here in
*New* Hampshire, USA (as opposed to the *old* one on your side <g>) if I wore
those, someone would assume I had taken up a new line of work, if you know what
I mean.....But they sound cool anyway - I just could never get by with them -
not even in Boston.
ROTFLMAO !!! I never considered they could be taken that way - I'm wearing
them in whole new light now - heck I think my whole posture's just changed!!
Just about any combination of lapis, purple, turquoise, and emerald green works
well. Also fuschia, purple, black, and pink. Browns with green, cream, and/or
gold. Monochrome groups, like white/hematite/black or sky blue/sea blue/navy or
baby pink/dark rose/maroon.
HTH!

There is gem-quality transparent rhodochrosite, but it's even pricier than
tourmaline. :-( There's also a hot pink CZ, and I think I've seen pink zircons
but they may not be as bright as you want. Some garnets are also pinkish, but
again probably not the color you're thinking about.
Swarovski it is then!
I'd forgotten about the rhodonite and rhodochrosite, I've got some Rhodonite
beads and love them soooooo much and and just discovered rhodochrosite - I
got a cab the other day and it's *stunning* but you're right they're not
nearly bright enough.
Fibreoptic beads, are they the Cats Eyes ones? I've never tried them myself
Cheers,
Rachel

I've seen fuschia jade, it is dyed but quite lovely. And Swarovski crystals
are obviously not stones, but stunning in their deep pink-ness.

As well they should.

That's one of my favourite combos. I wear black all of the time, too. Purple is
gorgeous with black.

Yep, and the facetted ones are *especially* gorgeous!! Try Trash City - their
prices are excellent on their fiberoptics and the quality is great!!

At a showing of Russian art I saw a cigarette box of gem grade rhodonite.
Never even knew it existed.
When ever I need pink tourmaline, I always ask for something that tends more
toward a peachy rose. I love the magenta stones, but unfortunately they
don't love me.
