I am wondering if someone knows a good supply source for some nice printing
paper for album pages. sometimes that looks oldish, yellow would be nice...
otherwise maybe some other, a little thicker than regular white paper,
sheets would be great too. is there some specific place that sells these
for album pages printing? I am in canada.

thanks!

Unitrade available in Canada offers quad pages in standard 8.5*11 size
- either green or blue quad ... also many collectors use software
that prints quad outline with page formats automatically...

phos45,

Just to know,
Could you explain what quad pages are ?

The only meanings I could find in my (Engl. <---> French) dictionnary
are :
- abbreviation of quadruplet
- quadrangle
- quadriceps
- quad bike
- equivalent of quod

Thanks in advance !

I use acid-free drawing paper. I use Strathmore 300 Series. It has a
good texture and is heavier (70 lb.) than regular paper. I buy it in
pads of 50 sheets. The sheets are 9"x12", so I have to cut them down to
8 1/2" x 11". I exhibit nationally fairly regularly and have never had
any negative feedback regarding this paper. I pay about $5 US per pad.
This is much less expensive than other sources of acid-free paper I have
seen. The paper is available in large sheets if you need something larger.

Hope this helps. I was referred to using drawing paper on this group
many years ago!

I went to my local printer and got him to trim some acid free paper to the
right size and 3 hole punch it. Cost about $25 for 500 sheets. He was able
to offer me over 100 different papers - everything from bright white to
lurid red. I opted for a subdued buff, a bit paler than manilla stock
pages, on a heavy laid paper. The laid lines come in handy when laying
stamps out on a blank page, too.

"Quad" pages are pages printed with the little 4mm squares usually found on
stamp album pages. But your other definitions sound much more interesting.

I have found 67lb Georgia-Pacific Cover Stock does very nicely. Its
standard 8.5" x ll", declares itself to be acid-free (in three
languages) and comes in packages of 125 sheets. Available in various
pastel shades - I use the cream myself.

Last batch I bought was from Staples (c. $17 as I recall).

All the best,

Can't help with a source in Canada but with these US specs you should be
able to locate it.

"Astroparche", mfgr'd by Wausau papers (No. 27427).
Says Neutral on the pkg of 100 sheets. It's a neutral (buff) color and
resembles parchment paper in look and slightly in texture.
65lb(pound) cover weight(175 g/m²)
8.5x11"(216x279mm)
Works great in an inkjet or laser printer, or copier and looks
especially nice with stamps mounted on it.

Many thanks, John !
Now I see what it is and I understand the origin of this name.
