Subject: John and Angela Barker Doll - 'Willow'
Hi,

We've just acquired 'Willow' as a keep-sake after a family friend recently
passed away.

The doll has "Angela Barker '96" on the back of the head, so I'm guessing
she's a 1996 or 1997 catalogue. She's been well looked after except that the
friend was a heavy smoker, and the doll reeks of nicotine.

We've wiped the porcelain hands and face gently with warm water on cotton
wool, which removed some grubbiness, but we're very reluctant to wash the
garments, in case the nicotine causes stains. Any comments or guidance about
looking after her would be appreciated.

John and Angela Barker are UK based (I think), and whilst I've found several
reference to their dolls in the US, I can't find many UK references to them.
The dolls appear to retail for between $2,000 and $4,000, give or take. Does
anybody out there have any ideas about UK valuations, and how the doll might
have appreciated in value? Just need an idea about insurance!

Regards
