hi, i've been away for a long, long time. and how things have
changed...for the worse.

i feel like the lloyd bridges character in airplane..."i picked a bad
day to start dealing coins"

anyway, like i said in a previous post...i started a blog at
coins.prrarecoins.com

i will not moderate (except for items that do not pertain to
numismatics, the hobby of coin collecting, etc...)

i have started a for profit site www.prrarecoins.com where i am
endeavoring to sell coins

if any of the oldtimers from rcc happen to read this please update me
on the whereabouts of the fellows from the 1998 to 2002 era like Aram
Haroutunian, bruce Hickmott, Mike Marotta, Reid goldsborough, et al

Welcome back if your here for a stay. I was here from 1999 till now
but, I did not post as much back then as I now do. Most of the old
good guys left and a lot of knowledge of numismatics were lost when
"this isn't toward everyone" the moron started puring in here with
they're flaming, harassing, and trolling. Maybe eventually some sanity
will return to this group and to Usenet!?

I enjoyed you're work with CW, have you stayed in coins since? The signal to
noise in RCC now fluctuates from bad to worse, I believe that has caused
many used to be regulars to lurk or leave. Some have died. Marotta and
Goldsborough still have at each other here from time to time.

From what I've seen, any legitimate coin-related questions posted here
seldom go begging for answers. There just seems to be fewer of them lately.
The "noise" is more apt to occur in the form of collateral comments, but the
original poster still usually gets his question answered and doesn't have to
pay any attention to the commentary if he chooses not to.

The questions from first-timers who receive answers or opinions and then
argue with them seem to be the ones that draw the most flack. Overall,
though, IMO this forum still offers too much fun and diversion to simply
write off as irrelevant.

Welcome back. On a personal note, I've been away for about two-three
months with a seriously crashed computer. My Geek Squad son and I
managed to salvage my personal files, reloaded Windows, downloaded
necessary programs, and basically got me back up to 100%. As you've
noticed, a lot of the regulars have gone into lurk mode or moved to
other groups, basically just to avoid the schmucks that seem to thrive
on crossposting their hate to any newsgroup that will get them an
ire. In other words, nothing's changed.

Really sad how the trolls not only disrupt the group, but actually try
to ruin the auctions of reputations of the legitimate people who post
here. I wish this could be changed to a moderated group.

Your not the only one in some aspects. I mean some off topics are ok
as lone as your being nice, respecting othere, and post as off topic.
But all the flames, insulting, and making others look bad is not
called for!
