Italy Returns Antique Tresure to Bulgaria
Three thousand Roman and Byzantine silver and bronze
coins and figurines unearthed by black archaeologists
near the town of Knezha (northern Bulgaria) will be
returned to Bulgaria. The articles were smuggled to
Italy in 2005, The Standart found out.

On January 13, the Italian police will hand in the
collection to the head of the National Investigation
Service Boyko Naidenov, investigating officer Rumen
Vassilev and director of the National Museum of
History Bozhidar Dimitrov during an official ceremony
in the Bulgarian embassy in Rome. Experts estimate
the value of the treasure the police found in
Verona at about 35.000 euro.
