Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier post. My middle school
students in Vancouver Washington are looking for some
help with a coin question. If you got change at a store or asked for
change for a dollar, how many of the coins would be marked "P", how
many would be marked "D" and how many would have some other marking?
We assume it would depend on where you live, but how solid are the
boundaries between the two primary mint markings? We have not been
able to find any published data on this question, so we would like to
ask people all across the country to help us out. Go to the store,
get some change, identify the mint marking, then complete a very fast
(three question) survey to record your results. We hope to get at
least 100 people from around the country to help us out. No personal
(identifying) questions are included. We will post the results when
we have enough responses.

Thank you very much for your time.
