Michigan businesses use dollar coins instead of bills

The Rockford Independent in Michigan has an article about some local
businesses that are using dollar coins instead of bills. The article
describes why the businesses are doing it and some of the results they
found.

"The whole thrust of the campaign is the circulation of the dollar
coin," said O'Connor. "This is an easy way to recycle. And not just
for kids, but for the adults as well. Since the coin lasts for decades
it will save the U.S. billion of dollars. We want people to get used
to using the dollar coin."

Um...yeah. That will almost make up for the bailout last week. Almost.
