This sounds like my day-- every day. How many freshly-baked chocolate chip
cookies should I eat with my morning coffee, and should I eat a heavy lunch
and light supper or vice versa. Once you reach 70, every day thereafter is
Thanksgiving.
I will be having a great feast this day about noon. The kind where
you eat three days worth of really good food in about an hour. So
far, I've resisted the temptation of the Ho-Hos.
Still, most days, I'm driving to a bank somewhere in the hours between
6:30 AM to 8:30 AM. I need to buy a new thermos.

Or at least get a bigger thermos.
I admit to feeling guilty for spending 10 minutes wolfing down a meal that
often takes the better part of a day to prepare. But the guilt feeling
disappears quickly. If there happened to be Ho-Ho's around beforehand, I
would not feel guilty testing one or two to make sure any left were okay for
others to eat. If the weather's not too bad, after the meal there might be
time for a good cigar on the back deck and then maybe a football game on TV.
Life is good for some of us. Lots to be thankful for.
The only time I actually go inside a bank anymore is to pick up a roll of
new president dollars once every three months . I wonder if they (BoA)
might save some money by eliminating the silly Wal Mart-type greeter inside
the door who directs you to one of the obvious teller windows. Last Tuesday
I went in and asked the teller if she had rolls of the new Lincoln dollars.
She said no. I asked if she knew when they might be expected. She said
that some other tellers do have them. I asked if it would be too much to
ask her to get one from one of the other tellers. She said she could do
that. I'm glad I only have to do this four times a year.
Certainly sounds like a Ho-Ho free existence, that's fer sure.
Aside-
A few minutes ago, my cousin said I should have a bowl of "steel-cut
oatmeal" to stave off hunger pangs.
What kind of tree-hugger s*%t is that?
My poor old Granny and Gramps ate Quaker Oats many years ago, but I
don't think they insisted on any swishy method of grinding the oats.

That will happen eventually to most adults without even trying and in less
time than 14 months.
BOA is toast. However, BOA is almost at the very top of the
"TBTF" (too big to fail) list.
FWIW, I cut this post down a whole lot before I sent it.

Aside-
------------
I, too, grew up eating oatmeal for breakfast, just the basic Quaker Oats
stuff in the classic round box. I don't remember if there were any other
brand options. I do know I wouldn't go near Mother's Oats or Cream of
Wheat, just because of the wierd names. I did have to take a spoonful of
castor oil, too. I have no idea whether this stuff would help of hurt kids
today or if it's even still available. It sure made me gag though.
My Granny cooked the oatmeal, the pea soup, the chicken and noodles
and much else in the same plain, uncoated, aluminum pots for over 40
years. Gramps had Alzheimers really bad the last five years of his
life, and I've heard the claim that the Aluminum pots and Alzheimers
thing are related. Granny stayed reasonable good in her mind till
close to the end, however.
It's about time to drive up to Thanksgiving dinner now (twenty miles
up the road).

Can I come and live with you? If I ever brought a box of Ho-Hos into
my house (even at night after everyone else was asleep), they wouldn't
be here the next morning. I should have to suffer such a dilemma as
yours.
Jerry
Screw it, eat them all now, before the kids get up.
Why buy one? Christmas is coming!
Happy Thanksgiving
