Yesterday I visited a supply dealer and picked up the new Dansco album for
the America the Beautiful quarter series that will debut in 2010. Now all I
have to do is to remain alive long enough to complete the collection in
2021. Yikes!

Back in 1998, two of the founding fathers of our local coin club told
me "why should we start a series we can't finish?" in regards to the
statehood series, and their point was their own hovering mortality.

Both are still alive and compos mentis.

"Dum spiro spero" as the coins of Charles I of the "United Kingdom"
still proclaim today.

Good point. Wish I had remembered to quote it. Must be my decompos mentis!

Whether I complete that collection or not, an intermediate goal is to be
around for the August 2017 total eclipse of the sun, which will pass very
close to a neighborhood near Springpatch.

Well, you could set up a trust tasked with filling the remaining holes. I'm
sure there's some lawyer who will gladly do that for an exorbitant fee (paid
in advance, of course).

For that exorbitant fee I would have to specify a minimum of PCGS MS70 PQ
CAC crackouts. Nothing but the best, I always say.

But James you need to get by 2012 first.

Heh. Somehow I don't attach any particular importance to that year.
